But as much as they are celebrated, elephants are also among the most abused animals in the country. Over the past four decades, Lek Chailert-known as Thailand’s elephant whisperer-has dedicated her life to rescuing abused Asian elephants and building an emotional connection with them.
Steve Lunt traveled to Chiang Mai, home to Lek and the elephants she has saved.

Yes my friend HEAVEN does exist...but just being "good" doesn't get you there to live forever. The only way is to be born again. Believing that JESUS died for your sins , & rose from the grave on the 3rd day. Now sitting @ the right hand of GOD !💜💕 Salvation ....Repent , turn from your sins , ask 4 forgiveness , as JESUS comes soon...very soon !

She is already in heaven ,and creating the same environment for this beautiful creatures..Human beings should not hurt other living beings or use them(they are not here to serve for us),we are here to live peacefully with fellow living beings.People are exploiting them(animals fur,skin,truncks,eating flesh,leather items).,everyone have to stop buying these items made from animals.,because of the demand people are harming all these beautiful creatures.

100%! If you can't help these animals directly, you can also donate to animal sanctuaries and national parks to help protect these beautiful animals from poachers and disease :)

@D-Y M Yep, Chinese living in China (or those who claim USA to be their home?) have been the biggest consumers and demanders of rhino horns, which is apparently used for some dumbass hangover concoction. 😠 I'm assuming those heartless POSs have been preferring horns of the white rhino. Last I read there's only two remaining. China's asinine medicinal remedies that use parts from endangered animals (tigers, Chinese bears, rhino horns, elephant tusks, pangolins, etc.) is a practice that is engrained with complete *STUPIDITY.* I'm hoping the outbreak of the coronavirus (aka Wuhan virus 🦇) really *will* promise a complete stoppage of using exotic animals as part of their BS Chinese medicine ideas.

I blame capitalism and bankers. Most people are normally humane and if not for monetary system, people wouldn't abuse animals and themselves for survival. I am also confused by God, also some creatures like chameleons, fish, moths etc. camoflage themselves to catch the prey unawares, eagles and hawks, lions and crocodiles tear an animal to pieces. All the flora & fauna was created by a good source though...couldnt have been bad, its just the cruelty I dont get. Someone on a spiritual video said that we always will have duality (light & dark) ...but if that is the case, then how can we evolve to a better world? you make a good point.

I loved this video, showing so much footage of elephants playing, and with Tek comforting & singing to them. The horror of their torture is amplified by this contrast, and makes me hope for her long life. You can see how much they love her. What a wonderful woman...and so lucky to have their trust & affection.

You are a really Angel for these elephants. However, I saw at 5:17 min. a man hurting an elephant for work harder and it's was already a strong work for the elephant. It's really objectionable as work and I wish that these men and / or women will be punished severely for mistreating one or or elephants.

That didn't happen at her sanctuary. That was video footage shown as an example of abuse of elephants in Thailand in the logging business. In the top of right of the video you can see that it says, "Undercover Footage."
