a=4 should be 8+5+4+1=18 not 17

there s been a mistake in calculating lower bound ;it shall be the sum of least element of each row .But maam uve considered least element of column. hence the val of a1 shall be 17 n a2 shall be 10 and not 18 and 12 respectively.

yes this is wrong (same observation as yours we have to check the column)

@@youghi It's the same thing. You either assign the numbers 1-4 to a-d or assign a-d to 1-4. Do it the other way round with the columns and you'll get the same solution.

Someone please explain this cases is failing for this use case J0 J1 J2 J3 A {90, 75, 75, 80}, B {30, 85, 55, 65}, C {125, 95, 90, 105}, D {45, 110, 95, 115} If we apply branch and bound to this we will get 280 as optimal solution but actual is 275 A = 0 (295) A = 1 (225) A = 2 (265) A = 3 (250) , hence choosing A for job J1 B = 0 (260) B = 2 (255) B = 3 (260) , hence choosing B for J2 C = 0 (320) C = 3 (265) , hence choosing C for J3 finally D left with J0 75+55+105+45 = 280 but actual answer is A -J1,B -J3 ,C- J2 ,D- J0 (75+65+90+45 = 275) Someone please explain

There is some misunderstanding. If i am using the other way that doesnt mean that its wrong.there is only a single mistake of addition at a point but the final answer and the method both are right.

I think Shaswat Jha is correct. You're taking value from rows and then the other values you're adding columnwise... Your method can be wrong correct me if I'm wrong.
