is there some sort of trick to get Astarion to react in this scene if you romance him because I always bring him and he just stands there. Shadowheart is the one to speak up instead.

I just ungroup the other companions temporarily and leave them down in the hall while I head up with Astarion.

Shadowheart tends to override his dialogue so I usually have to ungroup everyone except him

It's somewhat random who will speak up during cutscenes like this, so there's only ever a 1 in 3 chance it'll be him if you have a full party. The only way to guarantee it'll be him is if you dismiss the others or ungroup them and leave them somewhere out of earshot.

Apparently Shadowheart will overwrite a lot of Astarion's dialogue if you have both of them in your party. I learned that the hard way when I missed out on the chance to gain his approval with the barn scene. If she's in the group, she will usually speak instead of him.

@@LordofFullmetal If it's the barn scene I'm assuming you mean you can still get Astarion approval. I just did that part and Wyll was the one who spoke up about not opening the door, but I did it anyway and gained approval with Astarion. If there's a different barn scene somewhere I need to make sure I find it. XD
