I broke my neck head banging to this on the way home. Phish rocks

This is the jam that got PERFECTED at Big Cypress. Try that Sand for what I think is the definitive version. This one is pretty damn epic, though.

The version from 12/16 felt very jazzy to me. Page and treys comping each other was straight jazz, also the closest thing to electronic music I'll ever listen to.

I love these deep Dec' 99 jams because Page actually goes to his piano over these trance grooves. Same with the 12/16/99 Tweezer. Trey is playing around on his keyboard, and Page gets open pastures to roam in. I still can't *quite* tell if those wop wop wop drippy noises at the 11 min mark underneath Page's piano are guitar or Trey's keyboard
@burtonhodges70557 жыл бұрын
Often wonder this as well. I thinkkk it's Trey's keyboard right?
@Gumbo722037 жыл бұрын
DBH yeah probably, but I never know for sure! It might even be treys guitar haha, because he does a lot of similar weird stuff with layering loops during the Radio City Ghost. Cheers for being a critical curious listener!
@BrianPitts805 жыл бұрын
im pretty sure its guitar but with his keyboard looping in the background

I saw a handful of 99 shows and loved the dark funky feel to a lot of these shows. It had a rave vibe to it at times.
@Gumbo722033 жыл бұрын
@@galeofdarkNES i'm so jealous of anybody who got to see this era. Not only was the playing of the band stellar, but their SOUND was the best it ever was. Trey's tone especially.
