I've thought in Story of Thor(Beyond Oasis)... It reminds me in some way to Herbo/Bow temple and some other eerie themes of the game. : )

It's pretty great! Obviously the soundtrack is a highlight, but the gameplay is really impressive for a Mega Drive game too.

@@rudeboyspodcast How is it impressive _for_ a Mega Drive game? Are you implying that the Motorola 68000 CPU is incapable of facilitating good controls and game design? It's a 2D platformer roguelitey kinda game, it is perfectly within the bounds of what the Mega Drive is capable of, so it isn't impressive. It's a lovely game though of course. It is a common misconception that the reason old games feel "old" is due to the original platform being primitive or slow or whatever. This is often not the case at all. Sure, the developer would've been trying to push the most out of the hardware they had, but they were limited to _the collective knowledge of programming and game design at the time_. It wasn't the system itself but the standards of design being different to what they are today. Give a Mega Drive to someone developing games today and guess what, you'll get a game that feels "modern" just like Astebros (well, as modern as a retro 2D platformer could feel anyway). Game design transcends hardware in many ways.

​​@@citizenhalBut sometimes games really do push hardware to its limits. Sure, games don't feel old just because of their hardware, but their hardware does influence that feeling. For example, SMB1, while it plays great and has great game design, does feel old due to its music, sound effects and art, which only are the way they are because the game is on the NES. Not saying that SMB1 has bad music, sfx and visuals, I like the music and art, but you can't deny that it feels like an old game.
