The Astec ReMix™ system is a modular solution for taking ambient temperature (cold) RAP (recycled asphalt pavement) and mixing it with new asphalt cement to create a mix suitable for road base replacement. It is comprised of a core trailer chassis load with optional integrated RAP bins or external bins (shown), a 300 TPH pugmill, feed conveyor, controls system, 550 gallon water tank, and either a foamed or emulsion asphalt injection system.
This project was started in June of 2023 with acquisition of support 3D CAD models of the RP-175 paver, RX-405 mill, and ReMix plant. Then importing, refining, rebuilding, and reducing polygons (from tens of millions down to 1 million and under), defining surface materials, and then building and laying out scenes using Lightwave 3D 2020. Using 9 computers, rendering took four months, from Nov to Feb, due to last minute engineering changes that forced the rerender of the majority of scenes.
