London buses at Walthamstow Central 09/11/2022

Buses at Walthamstow Central bus station on 9th November 2022. Go-Ahead operate several routes here using BYD / ADL electrics, while Stagecoach provide the majority of services following the takeover in the summer of Tower Transit's Lea Interchange garage followed by HCT Group's London operations a couple of months later. This has also brought more variety into Stagecoach's fleet.

It seems that the curbs have a small rounding on purpose, so that the buses, when turning left, go into the oncoming lane:)

Looks like it has to be that way to allow space for a pedestrian island between the bus station's entry and exit. The angle of the entry means buses only have to swing out across the road on exiting and the traffic lights stop oncoming traffic anyway. Possibly not the only solution but it appears to work fine.

I hope stagecoach London takes the 5 back for the loss of the 366 and D3 to Go-ahead London

Not the same like how it was in the ALX 400s days, only those traditional ex buses kept the whole area alive.. Enviro 400 is not so bad but nothing can never EVER beat the original ALX 400s, not even the Enviros.

I do miss the ALX400s - was my favourite of the 1st gen low floor double deck designs - though I never visited Walthamstow much in those days, so can't say I associate the area with them.
