The Aston Martin Bulldog fresh from a restoration after not being seen in public for a long time. The car sounds incredible with its 5-litre V8 and is attempting a 200 mph top speed run later on this year.

the weight of the motors used to raise the doors back in 1979 must have been horrendous!! First method to make a car go faster is to reduce the weight. Why, if the car is utilising a hydraulic system for the shocks, not use the same system for door lifts...or, at least use springs with the hydraulics acting as a damper?

Weight doesn't have effect on top speed, only acceleration. The biggest problems are drag and power.

@@peyopeev8909 so, a car with 4 adult males and their day bags will be able to go as fast as the same car with only 1 driver in there? I don't think so. The extra work the engine has to do will scrub available performance...and not just in terms of acceleration. in terms of electric motors, granted, I should have thought the difference would be minimal. It's still, however, fractions of horsepower being lost to inefficiencies.

Absolutely dreadful...easy to see why there was no funding...looks like some students threw together for a college project...you'd wake the neighborhood up opening the doors alone! One of the great disappointment in British manufacturing....and that's saying something!!!
