Very nice vid! What camera do you use for external and internal shots? Intriguingly nice... ;-)

Thanks! Glad you liked it. I shoot with a Panasonic GH3 and a mixture of Panasonic/Leica lenses. It is a great camera for filming. Its mirrorless so doesn't have the bulk or weight of a full frame DSLR.

Registration says 1963 (A Suffix) but the description says 1959. Chassis number says 153 so 1959 build year would make sense. I wonder why it wasn't registered until 1963?

Not 100% sure on that. It is possible the car wasn't registered for a few years but it seems unlikely. It did go to America for a bit but not sure for how long.

Maybe just DVLA error somewhere. The AMOC will likely have the build sheet for the car and that might include the original registration if it was assigned at the time. Would be interesting to see as it might violate the DVLA's rules of not assigning a 'newer' registration to a vehicle. A 1963 registration could technically be on a DB5 and this car is an early DB4.

I also note it didn't sell at auction so there must be some funny business going on with the identity. If the bidding opened at the lower estimate, someone would have bitten the auctioneers hand off for an up and running DB4

Yes the car didn't sell. I wasn't at the auction so don't know how the bidding went. It may still sell if a deal can be put together. But it probably didn't meet the reserve. It is very true that the DVLA could have made a mistake, they are far from perfect! I think a check with the AMOC would clear up a lot of things. It would be good to know more about its time in the US as well.

It was quite common for a lot of older vehicles to get an A registration ' up grade ' in 1963 . My lambretta was first registered in 1960 but I bought it in the 80s with an A number plate. The authorities must have cottoned on to this loop hole and stopped further re registrations but many of these upgrades from 63 remain . It's all legal and legit .

I used to really like Aston's. Too bad it's silver gray. It's a color I don't like too much.

+Federico Spadone Silver grey is a common colour on them. Probably too common in a way. So this one looked a "classic" DB. I don't mind it to be honest.

Yep I know. Back then it was also a less common tint. Now the main reason why I dislike it is because the roads are overcrowded with grey cars.

Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing petrol stations to only one state operated central gas station per city. From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer...
