The Aston Martin DBS develops 510hp and 420lb/ft torque from a naturally aspirated V12 and follows the familiar formula of more power and less weight which is a time honoured recipe to make a driver focused supercar even faster with improved handling and, more engagement and all importantly - more emotion!
As a Modern Classic - here is what the Aston Martin DBS is like to drive in 2019...

@@natert0tsyea and also partly rip Beauty. They still look good, but far from the pinnacle era where they were associated with the best looking cars money could buy. Modern Astons are great cars throughout, but they lack that soul.. I get what you are saying! So much more pleasure to be had by driving a car of this era, rather than current power/g/timing obsessed sports cars. Every gear change an experience to be savoured, finessed, sometimes perfected, and just executed for the fun of it sometimes. Paddle shift boxes leave me absolutely cold as they suck the character out of a drive train. A huge power band to be exploited rather than just click/click/click keeping the revs in a 2k band like twin-clutch boxes encourage you to do. And throttle response that really matters when execute a change, up or down, it is the driver that determines the quality of the operation, not the software! I am definitely sticking with my naturally aspirated, V8, rear wheel drive manual...!

The combination of masculine and feminine design elements is only meeted by Ferrari, although the DBS is the best execution of it imo. The sound of that V12 in combination with the manual box.
