Here it is - our in-depth Aston Martin DBX review! It’s the first SUV Aston Martin has ever produced, and as you can imagine, it doesn’t come cheap - starting at £158,000!
So what do you get for that ludicrously big price tag? Well under the bonnet, you’ll find a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 (‘borrowed’ from Mercedes, no less), that’ll produce 550hp and 700Nm of torque. The DBX will also shoot you to 60mph in just 4.3 seconds, and it has a top speed of 181mph!!
The only question left is… If you could, should you spend this much on an SUV?! You’ll have to stick with Mat and find out!

What I adored about it besides the breathtaking design, was the fact that head room and rare seat comfort were not compromised because of that sporty slope roof… very intelligent and smart design! They just need to fix those tiny cheap bits they borrowed from AMG🤣

Matt my home in Kentucky was 7/10 mile off the paved road. In the wet season sometimes ruts were deep enough we drug our differentials most of the way from the paved road to home. In the late 70s tho tire choices were limited and we ran stud type snow tires to get traction. Our parents 76 Chevy 2500 crew cab was an animal so was our 79 Bronco 351m

As always a great review, thank you Matt. About the Aston, why is it that most British cars get fake sunroofs? (one that cannot open). It maybe be welcomed in the UK where the weather is always so bad, but in any other country, you feel like a fried egg behind a fake sunroof (in the sun of course). Landrover finally has changed its policy of fake sunroof to real sunroofs for the more expensive cars. Not to mention, that most Airconditioners cannot keep up with a fake sunroof, when the temperature gets above 35 degrees (like the entire last week overhere...) For me that is an absolute showstopper. If Aston fixes that, then it will be my new number one 😎

With currently living with the new Aston Vantage I’m very exited to see an SUV that takes so many design points from the Vantage, It really is a Sports Utility Vehicle. Would much rather have the DBX over a Cayenne turbo or Lamborghini Urus because it’s just so much more classy and beautiful then it’s Rivals.

I am a E63s AMG driver. The new CEO of Aston Martin is Tobias Moers former CEO of AMG Germany also nowadays most of the engines are from AMG like the Vantage and the DB11. In my E63s there's the same engine like the DB11 and I didn't spend so much money for it. So they have something in common but the platform is still different. Because the Aston Martin will be allways unique Quote Marek Reichmann (German surname) chief designer of Aston Martin.

Brilliantly honest and funny review as always 🤣 I think the reason it doesn’t stand out is that front grille, as its now gone from being instantly iconic Aston, to ‘looks like a Ford suv’. Great for Ford, not so much for Aston 🤔
