So glad that everyone seems to be enjoying this. A huge amount of credit must go to Sam Riley who wields the cameras with such panache and swishes the editing mouse with such aplomb. We both really love making these films so we'll keep doing them. Thank you for all the suggestions of where we should go next - keep them coming!

I have followed this route twice now and it has been one of my staple roads trips when I am traveling with others. Driven it both in my Ford Fiesta 1.25 mk7 and my BMW 125i coupe. The fiesta felt a little underpowered for the vastness of lots stretches but was very fun on the tighter sections such as when you turn onto the single track road at Balmoral. With the slightly looser surface and limited sight lines it is very enjoyable in the fiesta. Then I went in the BMW 125i which was a very different experience, partially due to the 3 litre straight 6 and partially because the road was lined with snow. They do a very good job of clearing the road so it was still possible to enjoy pace. Very enjoyable route in a wide variety of cars because it varies so drastically.

@Henry absolutely love - sometimes after the Wife and kids are gone to sleep I sit with a glass of single malt - sound cranked up, and its pure Goosebumps ... One af the best car / road video's ever, shortly after I saw it the first time ... I skipped all my Porsche plans - and bought a 2012 Vantage S, modified with handcrafted Öhlins dampers - Race cats, twin clutch - lightend flywheel, manifolds etc. Would love to take it to Scotland, but it's a long way from Denmark 🇩🇰, and you drove on the wrong side ☺️ Love my Aston, thank you for the inspiration ❤️

I am just back from a few days in Scotland and drove these very roads and without question they exceeded every expectation. Sadly I didn't have the luxury of a V8 Aston, just a humble AMG A45 but none the less it was a fabulous experience. Lovely to see was the quote from Henry on the plaque at the Devils Elbow. If you are in 2 minds, go drive this route, it is simply breath-takingly beautiful...

What an incredible piece of motoring journalism. Seriously. The greatest trick of a journalist is to make the viewer/reader 'feel' the piece or subject that they're reviewing. The choice of words, the mannerisms, the emotion of it, not to mention the video production. No-one needs to hear 'costume change' when referring to the differing conditions but it helps put us there when you do and that is very admirable indeed. Tomalin used to do this - this is like Tomalin's work. It's the best compliment that I think I can give...

The quality of these videos is just staggering...amazing work guys and thanks!! Scotland is such a beautiful magical country, I need to go there someday. Scotland, Ireland, Iceland, Greenland, and the Scandinavian countries are some of the most beautiful parts of the world. Basically anything that ends in "land" is probably a gorgeous place. The most beautiful place in the world to me though, and the next place I think Evo should film at, is New Zealand. New Zealand is the crowning jewel of planet Earth. Go to the South Island and take whatever vehicle you wish (something with a V-12's is encouraged) and film it- it would be pure gold.

this is an amazing piece of motoring journalism. henry is the man, the aston seems like the real deal and, well, scotland is simply beautiful.
As a scot, sometimes it's good to watch others' reactions to where we live. It's a reminder not to take a beautiful place for granted. The view out our front door is stunning....and half the time I jump in the car and don't even look at it! This probably applies to locals all around the world. Some cities are amazing as well. Thanks Henry and greater Evo for this absolutely majestic video. It's honestly very refreshing to hear about the drive as the most important part of what is motoring. Opposed to a clip all about laptimes to the thousandth of a second, how many milliseconds a shift takes and other non essential factoids. Scotland seems like such an extraordinary place, one that is definitely on my bucket list to drive in my lifetime.

How romantic, how accurate, how right. Came back to Scotland from Melbourne 3 weeks ago and did the same drive with my wife. The scenery was wild and raw yet stirring and beautiful. Henry, you ask where else in the world can you find roads as good, my personal answer in the the South Island of New Zealand, not as raw, but quite beautiful and empty with mighty panoramas, charging rivers, ever changing scenery and well engineered tarmac. See you there

Drive the brand new 'Vette. Doesn't the base model have > 430 hp and weigh less than this Aston Martin? Not nearly as refined but this it represents our States well. Loud, a bit wild, and unashamedly American. He could drive the Blue Ridge Parkway, a beautiful road he would not expect, and then the Dragon's Tail, a wickedly curvy road, then find some air strip to hit 200 mph and a drag strip to race against a few locals.
@ConBroHermano9 жыл бұрын
Evan Moon Top gear did blue ridge and the speed limit is HEAVILY enforced at like 35mph. Tail of the dragon is a better choice for sure!
@EvanMoon9 жыл бұрын
You are correct. There are some roads in he NC mountains with "resume safe speed" signs that I much enjoy but the blue ridge parkway is a snails raceway. Maybe they could race a 2CV or some one cylinder cars. The parkway would be great for helicopter shots of the car showing that we have some beautiful roads, and then drive the Tail to ruin some tires trying to stay on the road.
Brilliantly worded ending...perfect. I replayed those words again and again. The whole video was so well done nice commentary but not too much. Beautiful scenery and the rumble of the Aston. Almost as rejuvenating as really driving it. Thank you.
