Top Gear is my favourite show but Tiff Needell is a legend.

i remember when i was younger watching Tiff reviewing the Skyline R34 GTR, he chucked the car around in ways i'd never seen before. part of the video is on youtube, sadly tho it doesn't have the crazy tricks he did. at one point on the long straight while doing about 100mph he spun the car 180 degrees, dipped the clutch to let it run backwards for a couple of seconds then spun it back 180 degrees again and gunned the throttle. he did this about 3 times in a row, i'd never seen anything like it

@MJWVI We all should age as gracefully as Tiff has. I trust he'll be enjoying life to the end. His attitude is bang on.

I've done the jump at Millbrook in a Fiat 500 Abarth. It's scarier than it looks! That car is stunning. Arguably the best Aston on sale.

You're mostly right, but when Clarkson tested this car on Top Gear, he said it was "Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!"

I agree with Tiff about Ferrari, I read somewhere that Ferrari don't offer manual gear boxes any more, I love changing gear! I guess we've still got 360s and 550s we can buy though... (when i've got some money...)

@Desmonddd2002 not when aston martin made it they sorted out the axel distribution to 51:49 so its almost perfect and any understeer can be sorted with a stab of throttle

This is a great car. But i think the V12 in the front might affect the handling when youre steering the extra weight decreases the performance of the chasse

@03iamhopeless couldn't agree with you more mate more. i love TopGear and Fifth Gear equally, they are both excellently produced programmes. it doesn't surprise me one bit that TopGear called on Tiff to coach Danny Boyle for his hot lap, hes a very talented driver. also seen as he is an ex-TopGear presenter i'm sure he was more than happy to help them out

@soulecho1 There's an arrogance about Clarkson, that Tiff just doesn't have. I've never warmed up to it, though many people are entertained by him. I prefer all of the other drivers at TopGear. The enthusiasm that Tiff expresses has won me over, and I am forever a big fan of his. His driving skills are the icing on the cake. Enjoy.

I hate that the DBS doesn't come with a manual anymore, but this Vantage V12 does. Even if the DBS offers more comfort as a GT car, a manual makes it even better for sporty times, not a stupid flappy paddle gearbox which imo should've been in this sportier V12 Vantage.

Tiff is a very enigmatic guy who has driving skills clarkson never knew could exist,but jeremy is a good presenter,top gear is an amusing show with some car info and good star laps etc but fifth gear is def the show for car knowledge and proper unbiased reviews.Merge the two maybe ? jezza the words,tiff the reviews/driving?! the hamster and may can take a walk ! keep vicky though ! and plato can drive a bit too !

WELL haters, tiff a professional driver and was racing in formula 3. he was on top gear recently for training Dany Bowle because of the Stig I meant the Splitter was gone. So Tiff is not that funny in a way to clarkson but he is totally cool as Clarkson. Guys on Top Gear respects him and he always helps them. So please stop that nonesene comments

Fifth Gear's hill circuit is so much better than Top Gear's airport track.

Those cars he 200MPH capabilities!! The V8 Vantage can even go over 180MPH. My friend drove one and he said he could have went faster!! The V8 Vantage is my favorite!!

Totally agree. And his (JC's) review of the MP4-12c grated with me a bit, about it having no personality, soul blah blah blah. He seems to trot out the same cliched review on anything that looks remotely restrained. Proper car reviews - 5th Gear, car related entertainment - Top Gear. Just wish channel 5 gave 5th Gear more air time. Don't get me wrong though, i still love watching TG.

(F)actually you are right, but in motoring TV shows what really matters is how well can you sell your show. Jezza, Hamster and Cpt Slow is DA BEST in motoring shows. That's a fact, no point to argue. In TG as they mentioned in the early seasons (2002), they are looking for a special factor in the car, and through that can they really judge a car. The old TG was boring, as the new 5th gear with Tiff. The new TG is good. Period. Have a nice day! :) (This was only my HO.)

@vitessemeister if you want to know at numbers then you can use the internet. if you want to see cars, shown from the best angles, in perfect lighting, with the best sound ever heard by man, you watch Top Gear. I agree, it's not a proper review but it shows the car at it's best and thats what we want.

Tiff is a nice guy, down to earth, a brilliant racing driver and excellent at road test communication... Jeremy is not as nice as Tiff in person, not a good driver, but still good at road testing cars. But none of that matter... what matters, is that Jeremy is funnier than Tiff because he jokes more than Tiff, and in this day and age what people want on the tele is... laughs.
