Fish the buoy 10 fishery at the mouth of the Columbia with guide, Brandon Glass. Brandon shares a wealth of information that will help you catch more fish. Fishing with Brandon are Jason Hambly and Josh Cooper from Lamiglas and their friends Herb Campbell and Brian Womacks. They fish fresh anchovies and spinners for limits of Chinook salmon.

Wow! Brandon Glass is probably one of the better guides I've seen on this program. He's clearly a guy that knows what's going on. Not only does he properly fillet salmon by going over the rib cage, but he also provides reels with left hand retrieve. Why more reel manufacturers aren't making more reels with left hand retrieve baffles me. I recently purchased some of the Okuma Cold Water reels used in this video. They seem to be higher quality than previous Okuma products.

Most informative fishing video that I have ever watched, I feel that if I ever fished that area, I could do it on my own and come back with fish the first time out...great job...OBTW, i just purchased two more Lamiglas Redline HS94MHC 9'4" rods yesterday!

When trolling with line counters of u target say 20’ u should let out additional line to compensate distance from from rod tip to where line enters water from rod holder depending of rod holder angle it’s usually 3-5’ extra line to spit on target depth

Yes, and also account for the line angle.

Salmon in the salt don't tend to be too leader shy. Use as long a leader as you can comfortably cast and try using InvisiSwivels for your swivel. They are neutral buoyant besides being invisible so they won't effect the action of your lure. They also won't corrode or blow out your tip if you reel up too far. Good luck.

quick question, i plan on casting out buzz bombs and lazer minnows for some kings and silvers in the bays soon, how long of a leader is recommended? shorter leaders are easier to cast, but i dont want to spook the fish. and long leaders are awkward for casting but have less of a chance of spooking, how long should i use?

thanks! what are some good jigs to use besides buzz bombs and laser minnows? darts dont seem to have much action and spoons just arent heavy enough

Kandlefish metal jigs have been the #1 chinook producer for the past 7 years off Port Angeles. Very simple but highly effective salmon producer. Swain's store in Port Angeles has the best selection but its runs out of Kandlefish frequently.

Hey! I gotta say! You have some nice videos and some great fish. I subscribed! It would be great if you could take a look at my channel. A great and successful channel like yours could really help me out. I might have to visit those Oregon rivers sometime! Good luck on the water. Thanks, JD

Why the barbless law what’s the logic
@4stringmanagmaildcom
@4stringmanagmaildcom 4 жыл бұрын
With salmon in the PNW they make us release certain fish depending on the run and location. As they mention in the video these guys were required to release native Coho. In my home waters which is a couple hundred miles from where this was filmed we most of the time have to release native Chinook. The barbless hook makes it easy to release the fish and lowers mortality on the fish that do get released. That's the theory anyway. A fish is not supposed to come over the gunnel of the boat until it's species and native vs. hatchery status is determined.
