Astra G Mk4 Convertible Interior Swap To Leather. In this video we strip out the old interior from the Vauxhall Astra G Mk4 and install a leather set of seats and side panels. I also fit the center console that I painted and also fit a new DAB radio. The radio link is at www.halfords.com/technology/c...

I changed the seats in my Vectra to Leather, it makes it look like New! But remember to disconnect the battery before removing the Airbag connection underneath the front seats. Great Video.

also you can install, steering wheel from astra turbo, vxr, opc or irmscher one (they are pretty rear) :)

It was useful to see how to remove the rear door cards. Not sure that I need to at the rear, but the front windows on ours require lubricating as they are definitely slower to move. I'll probably do the rear at the same time. We already have leather, but the rear seat has hydraulic fluid on it from a roof hose that failed. It would be nice to get it out for a proper clean. I have a spare computer to put in as the LED's have started to go, so it was handy to see how to remove the panel. I like the spray job you have done on the replacement panel. As an aside, the windscreen wipers have twice seized up. I've not been able to find a replacement linkage as the Bertone has a special one. A friend helped me out and with a press we were able to break it apart and grease it up. It lasted about two years before requiring grease again. I had bought a new motor thinking it was that, but having changed it, realised it was the linkage jamming.

That copper tab on the dab antenna is supposed to ground against the body of the car. Needs moving up a bit. It stops drop outs and will massively improve reception

Good informative video as usual that covers something not filmed before. The car looks great now. It really annoys me that DAB radio in the UK is very poor unfortunately. When it came out it used outdated technology compared to other countries and very little funding went into it. As usual it will never be improved or upgraded. I can't even get mine to work reliably in areas of Yorkshire compared to FM.

What Sony radio is it? I'm looking for a replacement that needs to operate of the steering controls. We also have a factory fitted CD multiplayer in the glovebox, so it would be good if it could connect to that as well. Just saw the link to Halfords!

Whenever I fitted handfree kits I'd never put the mic that close to a window opening. In a convertible I'd always mount it pretty much dead centre of the steering column near the dial's. If the mic picks up wind noise it may be a good idea to relocate it 👍🏻

@@retrorestore No, I'm not sure, but as I saw on a bmw convertible video on YT, it may have the same problem, which could be solved by tightening some screws ... if such screws exist on the astra MK4 kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mrx9bNOXmKzbqKs.html Considering your experience on convertible Astras MK4, you think it's a loose bracket? Could you make a video about it?

There's not much I can really show bud. Just remove the door panel and you'll soo see if there are loos screws by moving the motor brackets and see if you can locate the rattle. Good luck.
