@@JackMenendez Kodiak is actually an area that stays decently warm. Daily average mean temps for this time of year are above freezing. The average mean temp only goes below freezing for the months of Dec, and Jan. Daily average highs for March is 46°. Kodiak Island sits in the Alaska Current that brings warm water up from the South so it moderates the temps.

@netyr4554

If I recall correctly it's so that they could develop and build one engine which is used for both first and second stage (with optimisations for vaccum or atmospheric) rather than having to develop two engines.

Here we go again, instead of heading straight up out to space they begin their arc which continues to arc until it’s out of our sight. The arc will continue until it falls into the ocean. Yes I do understand that the earth is supposedly “round” and they tell us that the rocket travels at a “horizontal” path until it gets out to space… but here’s a great question, doesn’t everything going into space have to go thru the atmosphere? My other question is WHY don’t we ever see the rocket glowing up into a big fireball as it crosses the atmosphere? Wouldn’t this be a terrific picture to show us? So why is it that we NEVER see it? Think about that. Oh and as for the rocket, it will continue to arc until it falls into the ocean where many, many civilians have witnessed but never, never been allowed to admit it on tv. This is all theater. The greatest part of the entire launch is always “hidden”. They NEVER show us any of the exciting parts but that’s understandable when those parts brevet really happen snd that is why they never show it to us. That’s nothing too secret so why won’t they show us?

You know what--play kerbal space program. Fun game, and a good learning experience. For your other points--burning up in the atmosphere isn't exactly optimal if you're trying to speed up, but it's pretty handy for slowing down. So you want to get up and bank over when launching--so no fireball there.

Look flat-earther, ask yourself this: rockets have been launching payloads to orbit for over 60 years now. Vehicles to the outer planets including Pluto, a soft landing on Saturn's moon Titan, 5 rovers to Mars plus several landers there, and 12 men walked on the moon. If the earth is as you say, why would people continue to launch rockets at all? That must be hugely expensive. Do you have satellite TV or GPS? GPS uses constellations of satellites. Satellite TV uses satellites in Geosynchronous orbit, and the user on Earth uses a dish to point at the satellite which is essentially stationary above Earth's equator. Go on we are waiting for a response.
