Ihope you dont judge based on a certain debates on youtube. Try to go through the uni debates. On advancement debate, try to search on MUN debate cause in MUN once the facts is wrong the speaker will be stop immediately

It does matter because grammar and vocabulary is the basis of eloquence. I have personally watched a lot of debates and those that argues with poor language skills seems very unreliable in relaying their points across.
