The arrangement is reminiscent of a 1970s 1hr mystery/crime tv drama. How do I know this? Because when I was a kid, I obsessed over the background music of detective series like Columbo, Mannix, Cannon, Hawaii Five-O, etc., and now I find myself completely obsessed with this song. It's brilliant. It's perfection, even lyrically. Mad props indeed.

It really does. I remember Donald Fagan saying he really liked movie and theater music which had an influence on his music. I think these guys are pretty bold to bring that into this era. I'm a fan.
