There are many occasions when someone might come in contact with them, especially on hiking trails, mountains and neighborhood parks.

We're high desert AZ, live in the boondocks. Those beetles with bright yellow bodies, red heads and a black cross on their wing covers are known as "Iron Cross Blister Beetles." They're amazing looking things. We also have swarms on Africanized Killer Honey Bees pollinating all our Mesquite Trees. Like the beetle, just leave them alone and they're fine.
