Asulkan Hut Overnight (BC, Glacier National Park)

From Roger's Pass near Golden, BC we hike up through Asulkan Valley. This area was the birthplace of Canadian mountaineering and mountain culture after the Canadian Pacific Railway made it a popular stop for adventurers. We can see why, as massive peaks rise above glaciers in all directions. We stay a couple nights in the Asulkan Hut, managed by the Alpine Club of Canada. After a cold rain storm on the way up, we are rewarded with two perfect bluebird days to explore the surrounding glaciers and peaks.

Definitely is one of my favorites. We went right up to the head of the glacier was so cool! Very cool watching the video too as I recognized the entire thing

It's one of my favourite trails. Did it this past fall twice. Didn't see 1 person either time, best hiking experience of my life.

Have you ever stayed in the hut? There is so much exploring to do in a day above the hut that a daytrip would be difficult!

@@LifeIsAdventureChannel I did not stay at the hut because I was with my two dogs and didn't book. But, next time I plan a trip I will definitely arrange to stay up there for a night or two.

we hit Konrad cane hut years ago in early September just beautiful and also nobody around

Very coool! That’s an impressive hut, had no idea there was one there. I know there is a smaller hut on the opposite side of that valley I hiked pass but never looked inside
