9:17 If you look veeeeeery closely at the orange part of Battlefield's ledge in-between the two purple bars, you can see it's at a slant just like the actual collision of the stage. It's possible that they based the collision on the orange part of the stage, added the purple bars later on for aesthetic purposes, and never changed the original collision.

Learning to recover on Battlefield as a new player is rough. When I first picked up Melee with Marth, I hated that stage. Even once I learned the correct spacing, there was still the problem of doing aerials from ledge and keeping my spacing correct. I've probably died hundreds of times to hitting my head on the underside of that stage. It's not a problem for me anymore, but I still wouldn't be opposed to us allowing custom stages that actually function properly in tournament.

Melee Creators be like oh wow AsumSaus gets so many views, how do I get some of that audience?? When AsumSaus is legit putting in masterful edits, well researched and well written scripts, and putting in little funny tidbits making the rewatchability of the videos go way up. When most melee content is just stream highlights, AsumSaus is the type of person melee needs to show the world how sick of a game it is.

Your editing is so good! Always look forward to your videos! Samus can’t walk jump forever down there but she can escape back to the main stage before she falls with bombs and a well timed rising grapple.

Very interesting, this vid made me actually take a close look at battlefield due to reading that trophy description and yeah it is kinda a sinister looking stage now that I look at it, spikes spines and ribcages certainly give off a sinister vibe. also a funny little thing that has been happening as of late is that some people in a discord I'm in have started thanking me whenever you upload a video as a joke cause they keep claiming I sound almost exactly like you in voice chat.

I just wanted to say that I am not a melee player or even fan really but your channel is absolute perfection. Your video making skills are nearly peerless. You have that magic that makes something intensely enjoyable and entertaining even if it isn't super relatable.

Only a Melee background could explain the insane skill progression from AsumSaus. His first mini-doc style video with voice commentary (afaik) came out Nov 2019 (Low Tier Oddities). That's less than 20 months ago!!! Now he's got production value that puts huge mini-doc channels like CGP Grey and Vsauce to absolute shame. Asum's skill at his craft puts new faces in front of the community every day; new challengers, new labbers, new modders, new TOs, new champions, all walking through AsumSaus's open door just like I walked through Samox's door with the smash doc. Not to take away from other smashers accomplishments, but I feel like AsumSaus's contribution has been underplayed. The man deserves a trophy or a medal or something, imo. Besides being a great entertainer, Asum, you're an inspiration; to me at least. Thanks so much for your work. If you read this, I'm curious if you think playing + progressing at melee affected your editing and video-making skill progression, and if so how?
