Hi!
No music. No talking. Just work.
If you are taking your ASUS A53E laptop apart be careful and wear an anti-static wrist band or use other anti-static device. If you need to change a LCD usually you don't have to take screen out of a laptop. You can leave it on a laptop and watch the last part of the video where I am taking LCD apart. If you need to change a keyboard, you don't have to take all bottom screws out. There are usually some marks, like a keyboard picture, on a case bottom. If you need to put a laptop back to work be aware of screws. They are different and you better remember or mark them somehow to insure that you will put them back in to a right place.
Some laptops I take apart first time, so don't be serious on my time and performance.
If something got broken - ooops, it's your fault.
Believe me, some parts in your laptop are already broken, you just don't see that.
This video is like insurance for your laptop. With this video and some skills you will be always sure that at least you can try to repair your laptop. If it's broken you don't have to sell it or throw it away. You can find some new or used parts somewhere and change it. It maybe will be your new job or hobby. And if it didn't worked out you still will be able to ask somebody else to fix it.
So, just watch this video and fix your laptop.
Have fun and good luck!!

I needed to replace the fan ($10) in my A53E and the local computer repair place wanted to charge me $175 to fix it. I replaced it in about ten minutes all thanks to your video.

I needed to replace the screen hinge on my friend's X53E and this video really helped. I'm always paranoid about snapping something by forcing the wrong part so this was invaluable. Thanks!

Hello, you know, some laptops I take apart, I do that for the first time and some of them are pretty tricky. But I can't look for a video to make a video. :)) So, I have to guess how to open and in some cases re record some part of a video. Anyway I a very happy that this and other videos are useful.

You should be able to upgrade with the same Sandy Bridge processor. it should work. But the best what you can do is a contact manufacturer and ask them what CPU will be compatible.

Hi, you can buy a compressed air in can in pretty much every grocery store. For sure in some tech store. There is no shortcut. Please, keep in mind that this video is a complete disassembly video, so you don't need to take apart LCD screen to get to a fan :)))))))

He did a great job, but two suggestions for a beginner. Don't use a power tool to remove or install screws. And second, try finding a guitar pic to pry palm rest off instead of a knife. Much easier on plastic.
@regazzz
@regazzz 9 жыл бұрын
Mr.Woo Woo That's a good suggestions. But only for a beginner. Because in a real life plastic guitar pics will break pretty quick and needed a replacement. Drill ... if you careful - everything will be fine. But of course if just a beginner - lots of screws will be damaged with wrong bits.

I hear ya, but we've taken hundreds of laptops and devices apart at our computer shop and never broken a one. Just a suggestion for first timers...

I just bought this exact same laptop. The thouchpad isn't working right (it has like blind spots and random input at random intervals) Now I was thinking about replacing the touchpad myself but it's one single piece with the whole front right? Maybe I'm better off using the 5 day full replacement they offered me. Any ideas? ALSO: Thanks for this videos man. You're awesome.

You can try with canned/compressed air. If this will not help - you will need to go further in order to clean fan.

@regazzz

You know, removing a DVD out of a laptop isn't a big problem. usually you should, because it got screwed with one screw to a palmrest.

You screw driver bit seems to work really well without stripping the screws. Where did you get it from and what size was it? 00 or 000?

hi first thanks for video. second is there some easier way just to clean the fans from dust. I read a comment to try with compressed air, but first i don't have it. and second is there some shorter way to fan, is it necessary to open all this stuff that you have open it? thanks!

So, I did something stupid. I needed to open up my laptop (ASUS A53E) to clean it. Which I think I have done, but I didn't pay attention to which screws came from where. As far as I can tell I have 5 types of screws: 1) Thinner long black; 2)Thicker long black; 3) Short black; 4) Long silver; 5) One single long silver-ish screw with a smaller head. Any idea where these screws go or if it matters?
@davidbolha
@davidbolha 4 жыл бұрын
You just look at those round brass (yellow) thingies with the threaded groove on the enclosure's body that are embedded into the plastic. 😉 Try screwing in each of the proposed screw types (1-4) into those & you'll quickly see where each one goes where. At least you'll solve half of your problems this way. The rest is a bit of a guessing game. 😆 Are 1) M2x6 ones perhaps ?

Hey I saw that the other guy, Carlos, commented this, but I have the exact same laptop. I've been looking to upgrade the CPU. I currently have the Intel Pentium B950 Sandy Bridge with socket 988B rPGA. Is there any way you could direct me how to upgrade or even make a video on upgrading the laptop's processor?

There is usually always one way on how to get to a fan. Fan is hidden inside. Means you will have to do pretty much the same.

We have this model and it’s super slow almost unusable. It does get hot and sometimes will turn off. We tried reinstalling windows and same. Could it be fan blocked by dust? The fan works I can feel it blowing out. Or something else I can look for?

Yes, it can be a case. Also I would recommend to apply a better thermal paste and upgrade to an SSD drive.
@Van-gd4ck
@Van-gd4ck 2 жыл бұрын
Hello i know this coment is a year ago...the problem can be the thermal paste that dried or needs a better one beacuse almost all heat problems are termal paste or fan problems and for the slow problem is probably storage you can change the ssd upgrading the ram would be good but its not a big change to my knoledge hopefully this helps :)
