I replaced the dc jack on my ASUS laptop (great video). The new installed jack tested good (no short circuit), but after reassembly the laptop won’t power up with a full battery and no lights come on (with or without ac adapter plugged in). Is there a likely connection to double check?

I found and fixed the problem. For anyone else that runs into this, my issue was the power button cable connection. I started by testing for voltage on the bare motherboard with power cord plugged in (be very careful here, you can fry the board if you short something). I tested the power button connection, which should have just over 3 volts. It had voltage and as I was testing the connections the board powered up. I reassembled everything and very carefully and securely seated the power button cable. Laptop works and charges great with new charging port.

Have a nice day. I have an asus k53sv sx582v laptop. It has an Asus hm65 rev:05 motherboard. There is pci express 2.0. The i5 2430m processor, the first processor in the laptop, is insufficient. I want to upgrade this processor to the i7 3840qm processor. Can it be done? And after updating Windows 10 on the computer, the computer's lights are on, the fan is running, but there is a black screen. I connected it to an external monitor. But the image did not go to him either. The external monitor has been switched on. The post arrived, but then the external monitor also became a black screen. What had I better do? Help me urgently.

Hi, I got one second hand about 2 years ago in pieces & reassembled it just about a year back. 😊🙄 Is the maximum RAM capped at only 8 GB (PC3-10600) or can it handle even 16 GB (i.e. PC3-12800) ? What about CPU upgrade ? Is the i7 2670QM really the maximum or... ? i7 2860QM/2960XM maybe ? 😑 Thanks &... Best Regards,

Edit: I upgraded the CPU to the i7 2670QM CPU & is running with 2x 8 GB DDR3 PC3-10600 1333 MHz RAM. I also put in a Samsung 860 EVO 250 GB SSD. 😉😎💪

@@davidbolha I have the same laptop in the video and an ssd of the same brand and model that you have. I was wondering if I should update Firmware and BIOS to my laptop first or not, before installing the SSD, just in case. But now it was clear to me with your answer that yes, I must update.
