I've got the 4070 version with the mini led display since last week and I'm very happy with it! Great display with wonderful colors, fast an snappy! The battery life is not very good, but for the power its really not too bad. But it sitting on the lap, in the summertime it wont be too comfortable with the heat I think

Probably few of the most powerful 2 in 1 in the market. This is definitely a great device for creators who games a lot.

Great review! It looks like the USA version has 1024 mini LED and 4070 GPU. I'm really going back and forth between this laptop and the new ROG M16 with the 4080. As you have reviewed both, do you have a personal favorite? It's going to be my productive/work laptop that I also game on. I do travel a lot so portability is pretty important, but my guess is with the USA config the M16 and X16 will be similar sizes/weights with similar battery life since that LED screen sucks up battery. I think I'd rarely use the touch/2 in 1 features so that's not too important to me.

The Flow so far for me looks like the ideal device with its gaming capacities and touchscree. The battery life results in combination with the fan noise it makes really makes it in something that I am quite willing to get. Wonder how much better it can run with Linux installed on it as well.

From other review I saw of this exact same laptop with the same specs, the price listed was 1850 dollars in the US. I was wondering why it is 2600 Euro in Germany? Solely because of the International Shipping cost? Or is there a catch to the US pricing?

As I always love your videos, I would like to know which one would you choose with the Asus Zephyrus M16 or the ROG Flow X16 (2023)? I'm still undecided 😅, I recently bought ASUS ProArt Studiobook 16 OLED 2023, it came with a faulty oled panel, you can see the screen door effect, it's like the screen has a very fine mesh overlay, you see tiny dots, like a screen door Very thin is very annoying, and I wanted to know if that happens with the ROG Flow X16 (2023)? I've seen that happen a lot with touch screens.

Is it still worth it to go for the x16 2022 model? (it's like 1300$ for the RTX 3060 in my country) or should I wait for the 2023 model to drop in price? For context I don't play games a lot anymore, because cooperate life XD, I'm mainly interested on the 2 in 1 design which will come handy for my work in machine learning (I like calculating and taking notes manually like using a pen and paper). But my concern is the hinges, is the 2023 model stronger? and is the chassis made out of full magnesium for both model, because if it's plastic I'm afraid it will break long term like my old Lenovo yoga

I wouldn't be surprised if the battery life increases come more from the lack of a Mini-LED backlight in this model compared to the one tested last year, but nonetheless it is certainly good to see. If this model comes to the US I would be pretty excited, but that is not a given. And as for the 4070 model, I love the chassis but $2,700 for a midrange GPU is hard to swallow when you can get a Legion Pro 7i with a 4080 for less.

I have the x16 4060 with the miniLed panel and I was surprised by how hot the top and bottom of the laptop are during gaming in performance mode. I game on our couch with it, and it is so much heat that even with a 1cm thick stand on my laps, it is uncomfortable after 30min. My last gaming laptop was a G752VS with a 1070 and it does not get anywhere nearly as hot during gaming. If someone has a good laptop recommendation to game on the laps, even if it's thick and heavy, I take it.

So glad asus is selling a non mini-led option, as I’m very sensitive to PWM, and it’s significantly cheaper than the other models (in the US at least)

Alex, did you change anything in the youtube monitization settings or is it something they adjusted? I have had to watch 4 blocks of 2 20 - 40 seconds commercials in this video. Quite annoying and way more than average for a 10 minute video.

Im a uni student who likes to draw amd game. I was thinkjng about getting this laptop because i know it can game but is it good for just general usage? I hear the battery is bad and it heats up a lot.

I sent my 4070 model back due to a very annoying sound coming from the third smaller fan and the gpu fan even at low rpms. Very high pitched whine that hurt my ears. Did yours have nothing of that? Im planning to get another one in hopes i had just gotten a bad one

The battery life difference between last year model may due to the display. Mini led will drain more power than the IPS varient.

I want a quiet/cool laptop that would be good for in bed gaming. I would get this with the 4070 and that would be more than enough performance for me since I play RTS games exclusively. I just hate the fact it has a touchscreen/tablet. I'm not interested in those features at all. I know I could just use it as a laptop but I have too much of a hangup about it.

The config is all over the place, in UK the i9 4060 model costs £2100, but it does have Nebula HDR Miniled display tho, so still better than Germany I guess

Cool video, but at the end I opted for the more affordable tuf gaming a16 with ryzen 9. I definitely would love the x16 form factor but man is it expensive and in times like these I do prefer longer battery life as well as better energy efficiency in general, better for the environment AND for my bank account. 😅

Only few people know that 140w dynamic boost is just a show coz after 100w you only get to see at mere 4 fps + on screen while 40 to 90w shows atleast 40% uplift in fps ..so its like cheating ?

I feel the dig about "it'd be better with AMD" 😂 Honestly, remember the XPS 15? This is a XPS 15 that reached its full potential. Jarrod's very illuminating video on RTX 4050-4070 performance per watt shows that 100W is pretty much all you need for max performance, and this does just that. I'd pay about 10% more for a 4070 over a 4060, but beyond that it's pretty pointless. Honestly, if it at least had 12 GB of VRAM... There is just about no compromise on this machine, not for its category. It's about 2 cm thick, 2.2 kg, battery lasts all day, has extremely good performance, sleek and elegant chassis, fits about as much IO as you can expect, and does so smartly. The sound samples show a machine that's exceptionally well behaved. The webcam is fine enough. And it does all that while being a bloody 2-in-1, and ain't that just a smack in the face of the competition. In a generation where anything up to a 4070 needs only 100W to extract the full potential of its dGPU, models like this Flow 16 and Lenovo's Slim series become very appealing, as there is no real point in beefier designs unless you spring for a 4080 or 4090. And I'm struggling to find fault with this, besides the price, of course. But I'm already growing jaded to everything "nice" being 2500+ USD. For a segment that is "I'm willing to pay a premium for something that does it all, and does it well", I think this is a strong argument for taking the crown. The performance is there, the packaging is there, and it being a convertible kind of blows away whatever advantages any of its competitors that I've seen so far have over it, because there is simply no more performance to be extracted from a package this size- or at least no truly significant amount. Maybe someone fits in a numpad, maybe another adds a card reader or an ethernet port, maybe they have better speakers, maybe the styling looks sleeker, but these are the sort of points that I can see the competition scoring against it- which is to say, relevant but minor. And all of those, in my opinion, pale compared to a gorgeous touch screen and the versatility of a convertible. Accepting the pricetag for what it is, this just doesn't have any real sin. Do the speakers sound OK? Maybe if someone uses a magical cooler and fits a 150+25 Watt 4080 in something this size, but that's the one thing I can see beating this.

And you should tell everyone that model WITHOUT mini led has terrifying black colour level. I mean in most games black colour is a darkgray. All dark scenes in games are like if there is a gray fog everywhere. I personally don't suggest to buy basic IPS screen version. This laptop is acceptable only with mini led veriosn.

Had 3 of the 2023 4070 Mini LED ones. It´s a quality nightmare. Rattling touchpads, dead pixels, creaking hinges. I´m done with Asus.

If noise were the only criterion, I would buy this. My objections are: €2600 for 4060 in a well built 2-in.1 is €1000 too much, I need 4080 speed (at ca. 100W would be fine), small arrow keys, I expect weak keys having seen lots of recent notebook keyboards. --robert jasiek

Guys i bought 2022 Asus Rog Flow X16 with RTX 3050ti, Ryzen 7 for INR 1.3Lakhs ($1580) I know its a bummer but listen to me, i also seperately bought Asus Rog XG Mobile AMD Radeon RX 6850M XT-12GB for INR 80K ($972) Total i spent (~$2550) Now i have Best (2022) AMD Laptop GPU with Good ROG Nebula Display (Not Mini LED😌 but more than good enough display for gaming) and still i have a option to buy ROG XG 4090 (Maybe after 3 years when it becomes cheap) which is backward compatible so it will support 2022 Flow X16 - Future Proof Is it a good buy? Please do comment!
