Its sad to see modern GPUs not implementing fuses into circuit board anymore relying on sophisticated phase controllers and buck converters that supposed to protect the board from catching on fire.
But in reality, it does not always help because 12v can be shorted anywhere and only fuse will protect it.
This how ever was one lucky GPU that did not develop a hole in it.
For repair, please contact me by following the link in the channel ABOUT page.

Hi Tony. When you said you were replacing a MOSFET, I expected a 3-terminal device. The transcript was very useful, as I could then look up the 95480 and I learned a lot about modern multiphase buck converters. Thank you, enjoy your candy.

This one was a bit tricky to diagnose but it also showed your knowledge and talent Tony. For someone who is self-taught you really know a lot seriously. The good thing is that after you diagnosed it it was an easy and straightforward fix and that's the third in a row for 2024 hooray this seems to be your lucky year Tony 😁

Hi Tony, it seems like the switches are interfering with the capture card/ camera, try to put a small value capacitor in the switch contacts to prevent the spark, maybe that will fix it. Love your videos GPU GURU, greetings from Portugal 🇵🇹

That switch is 12v coming from power supply and does not directly affect anything. How ever, i do have a lot of random things plugged and 3 HDMI capture cards that react to me farting. When i flip the switch, when i turn around to access another PC or when i fart. Dont know what to do with it. It was a lot worse before i grounded the HDMI switch so i think its most likely the HDMI switch i use. Not sure.

Brilliant save! Your videos are very relaxing and I enjoy every time you post. If someone had told me 6 months ago that I'd regularly be watching a guy repair GPUs, I'd have laughed at them. I've learned a lot from you regarding troubleshooting. On a separate note, do you mind sharing the model of thermal camera you use with your smartphone? I tried to do a search and there are so many options out there that I'm hesitant to spend that amount of coin without further investigation. I figure if you use it, it does exactly what you need it to and I don't have to worry about fake Amazon reviews. Again, I appreciate the great videos!

Is there a possibility that in a future video when you repair a 4090 card, you can explain some readings from the HWINFO software, for all of us who are paranoid about the 12vhpwr connector. Specifically, can HWINFO, as some claim, warn of melting connectors and whether its readings are accurate compared to your measuring instruments. I mean specifically +12v input voltage and 16-pin HVPWR voltage. Greetings.

Heads up to the owner..... That black brace under the heatsink is completely worthless. Not only is it worthless, it causes the entire card to run 30 c higher than it needs to be. Get rid of the heat sink and that black metal bracket, remove it all. Your vrms and your vram will run much cooler and you can drop in A nzxt g12 and a 280mm aio so the cards gpu never goes over 45c ever. The 2080 ti cooling system is a total fraud and needs to thrown in the trash.

There is nothing funny about 1080ti and 2080ti looking practically identical. Nvidia scammed all the buyers releasing the 1000 series one more time, just adding a 2 in front of the name. They do this every other series, 1000 series good cards, 2000 hardly any improvement, 3000 good cards, and now 4000 series with a negative value compared to the last series. You wont see me buying one of their crap 4000 cards for exorbitant prices...

Except they introduced the first iteration of Tensor cores and RT cores with 2000 series GPUs. I would say that makes a lot of difference tbh

The_hate_inside, you are exactly right. Now, I did buy the 4070ti and overall I am happy with it but I think the 4000 series was overall a scam.
@lecarrotman
@lecarrotman 6 ай бұрын
@@danielhulan3058 the problem is the prices obviously. Shave off 10% and Nvidia cards present a much more desirable deal, but IMO Nvidia are in a monopolistic situation regarding the feature set of their cards and they can afford to piss off their customers, we won't buy AMD or Intel. Or idk tho, the other cards are about as expensive as the Nvidia ones so I might be misrepresenting the case here. But the feature set is unparallelled IMO, so I personally will stay with Nvidia for now. Got a used 3080 btw and I'm pretty satisfied with the deal I made. I don't think I'll ever buy new, the ROI is simply not there, but used works for me.
