To be honest at this price, this is the best laptop anyone can own. But how's the heating issue (on the i9 HX + 4070 model)? And why doesn't Asus promote their vivobook pro lineup like their other models? This laptop should wipe out the entire xps market and yet it doesn't.

I have recently got myself a model with i7-12th gen (12700h), 32Gb ram and 3070TI as my GPU. I have to say that the screen is unlike anything I've seen before. I was gaming my entire life, as for today I bought it mostly for software/games development and it blows my mind how great this laptop is. above my expectations. Really I can go on and on about the sharpness, about how responsive everything is, about the unique colors. just WOW

@@Domionico Not as good as I expected it to be, Personally I work with heavy load ( programmer ) so Im constantly plugged in .. But lets say if I plug it off, continuing with the heavy load, it'd be something like 3-4h I suppose

Hello, I was wondering why in this video, there are 2 colour options: Black and Cool Silver, however in Southeast Asia, only the Black variant is available for pre-order as of July and numerous local ASUS stores do not know about the Silver variant for this product (K6604) at all ? (1) Could I kindly request for the Silver availability dates for Southeast Asian market? Suggestion: it would be good to launch same number of colour variant option in each country once the product is available for that country, be it for pre-order or ready items, just like smartphones product, so as to not mislead the customers when they see reviews like this destined for international audience , which also include them, and the local availability that customers see in stores. From what i know i5 after a lot of research in each component's, i5 is bad i suggest i7 at least, for ryzen 5 i dont know much but they with ryzen you will have better battery but more loudly fans and Intel(7) is better for multitasking , so it depends how you will use your laptop

Bought i7, 4070, 32gb version recently. Oled is impressive, however sometimes on battery power I'm getting annoying high pitched coil whine. It does disappear when I plug in into AC. Are there ways to solve this?

@@firas.jn571tempreture is fine, you can also set standard or whisper mode instead of performance mode, performance is reduced, but laptop is a lot quieter and cooler, if you don't need all the power it's great option. I had to return the first laptop because of clicking mouse pad when just moving mouse and it felt laggy while navigating in windows. Overall build quality is ok for the second laptop.

@@faezor3326 i think the idea is the cable get on the way of the mouse. If I get this laptop, ya 90% of the time will likely be in the charger. But at times, the usb pd will be great and sufficient. But then the cable gets in the way.

They sure make it look easy to pull that bottom cover off. I have been taking apart laptops for over 20 years. This one was the first one in the last 8 years that I have had to get out the plastic pry tools. Otherwise, this seems to be a quality laptop. The screen is great! I can play Diablo 4 at the native resolution of this screen, with DLSS (balanced), at about 70fps. Still running tests, I just upgraded to a 2TB SSD and 32GB of RAM.

It's pretty good, honestly better than I thought it would be. I run at 1440P, on 16" you can't tell the difference. I feel like I can see a bit of tearing, but it may be my imagination. I am normally very sensitive to that, and I can't swear to it, so take that ss you will. The speakers are very good, and the volume very much drowns out the fan sounds. It runs very warm, but not worryingly hot. And the OLED, just like my desktop, keeps me from getting motion sick after an hour or more or gaming. I hope that helps.

I bought this laptop and experienced lots of problems. Sometimes it would run up to 90 degrees in normal mode with no tabs open at all. The system lagged, occasionally froze, and apps crashed. The battery life is very bad. I’m really confused about how a company like Asus can promote their advanced cooling solutions when they clearly don’t work in practice. They told me to perform a Cloud Recovery to fix the problems, but unsurprisingly, it didn’t help. To anyone considering buying this device: don’t buy this notebook! Don’t make the same mistake! Now I'm stuck with this laptop - fantastic!

Guys - when is this model hitting the European market? Your reps in the EU can't provide a timeline. It's just the version carrying the GeForce RTX 4060 GPU (not the 4070) that seems to currently be distributed on some EU markets. Any info on this would be appreciated.

Probably next year. Asus is more into releasing spec sheets than actual products. Even when they release a good product that has the potential to take over the whole xps market, they release it in quantities of 100 maybe. But I dunno it could be 10 as well.

@@vs3.14 The thing is it's already out on the US market. And the 4060 GPU version of this very model is already out in Europe... Their marketing and product lineup outside the gamer-oriented ROG series is very schizophrenic though. They really need to sort their stuff out and consolidate their marketing approach and their product management globally.

@@mathviews Yeah. It is out in out in the US market. But I am talking about their general trend with these vivobook pro models. If you compare it with other brands, Asus vivobook pro models are often out of stock. And they release much later than others. Even in this video. It's a video about a product that people would potentially buy. At least I hope that's the goal of any product launch. But the link they list here, is a spec sheet. Instead of the store link. Where a buyer can go and check if the product is out in their country and the price. Every product in an online store comes with their specsheet anyway.

@@vs3.14 yep, I know. They're shooting themselves in the foot. Like you said, this series could easily be talked about in the same breath as Dell's XPS and it's at a much more competitve pricepoint too, so I'm sure it would sell given the right marketing (I guess their zenbook pro line is their flagship and a more direct competitor to the XPS, but spec-wise it's the same - arguably worse if you want to avoid soddered RAM). I guess we'll just have to wait and see...

@@mathviews not even same breath. XPS 15 has H series i7 capped at 45wwith a full hd screen and 4060 at 2k or something. This one has OLED, 120hz, 4070 with hx series i9 at 105w with a 16"screen which is lighter than XPS 15 at 2.1k. If Asus actually focused on making this product compete with other creator laptops they would easily have a monopoly on windows market.

AMD has realeased 1 Phoenix range CPU and laptop in 2023, that's last 5 months. That's less than 1% compared to Intel. Even if AMD manages some stock, they will pair all the CPU's inside laptops with soldered down 16GB RAM.

On default settings it's horrendous, will die so fast you will be shocked. However after applying every single battery saving trick you can think of, especially limiting the CPU, it can go for about 5-6 hours of web browsing. Only knock on this laptop but everything else is 10/10

If only for gaming, then the Strix (240Hz, better battery life) is the choice. If you also do graphic design and video editing, then the VivoBook (OLED) is preferred. Overall, in terms of price and specifications, they are almost identical.

Why do you keep ruining the ergos with numpads? No one is buying these for data entry. If someone needs a numpad they can buy an external bluetooth pad.

Screens that are coming less than 300 nits and 100% sRGB should be banned. Asus has tons of laptops with bad screens, especially on their 'budget' Tuf lineup. I don't see the budget because in Europe it is more or less 1000$. I'm just amazed how Apple puts the best screens in the industry on every laptop, while gaming laptop manufacturers are playing with screens that are decades old. Gamers or anyone for that matter will stare at that damn screen at least 5 hours a day. Seriously? screen is the MAIN output from the laptop to the user.
