Too thin. Prefer more ports and a bit beefier cooling. And squeezing lithium batteries that thin can be dangerous due to the dendrite formation issue.

it just looks so much nicer when the keyboard is centralised, with no numpad. Awesome screen too, and an SD card slot. It’s a YES for me.

I am old enough to remember that each laptop bigger than 14inch had a numpad, except Macbooks of course that they were always focused on design and symmetry more than function. Forward years later, everybody is convinced that they cannot work if the trackpad and the spacebar are not exactly centered. And everybody has become a content creator and nobody needs a numpad to enter values.... And I see all this wasted space around the keyboard and I just get upset.

Intel and QComm have refused to allow slower RAM in their premium chipsets so as LPDDR5X is currently not available in a modular design you have to have it soldered. There is no alternative. We have CAMM2 coming next year to ultra books which will solve this to a point, but until then, this device can only be released with soldered RAM.

They are initially going into pro devices as prices for these new CAMM2 modules are relatively expensive compared to the alternatives. So for cheaper products like this one reviewed it would push the price up by at least $100. Hopefully in six months to a year we will see prices come down so CAMM2 can be seen in ultrabooks.

OEMs are switching to 6GB RAM modules. Apple started it with the Macbook Pros and others will follow. For obvious reasons they are cheaper than 4GB modules. So, 24GB of RAM will eventually be the base in Windows as Intel, AMD and Qualcomm decree minimum 16GB. Apple, with the M4 Macbooks, likely to start at 12GB later this year.

Ever since vendors were allowed to support only part of the 2.1 spec to call it a 2.1 port it's been confusing to confirm exactly what res/refresh they support.

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X series has 45 TOPS, Apple’s M4 has 38, and AMD’s last-gen Ryzen 8040 series chips had just 16. Intel’s Meteor Lake Ultra 7 165H has approximately 10 TOPS (but the upcoming Lunar Lake is supposedly going to even the playing field).

Am I the only one who dislikes any type of design which doesn't have a classic aesthetic? Take this laptop for example. Look at those lines all over the front. In 10 years, will that look terribly dated? Yes, it will. The design isn't classic. So I don't find this beautiful at all.

Stop calling glossy displays good. )
@MatthewMoniz
@MatthewMoniz 29 күн бұрын
I should be more specific when I say glossy displays. What I’m really referring to is the perceived contrast you see with a glossy display compared to matte. However, what I should mention is reflections. Some glossy panels have very reflective screens compared to others
@VadimMarchenko
@VadimMarchenko 29 күн бұрын
@@MatthewMoniz I've got what I call eye allergy for any glossy screen. I would pick awful Dell Latitude 500 nits, with bad viewing angles, colour inaccurate screen over ANY OLED 120hz any time just for being mate. I would stop buying laptops when all will have glossy screens.

@@MatthewMoniz I've seen quite a lot of people with burn-in on their AMOLED (basically just a fancy name for typical OLED) smartphones, such as Pixels and the likes. So can happen, especially if you have the nits constantly at a high brightness and not using the phone's automatic dynamic brightness setting.

The important thins are the GUTS SCREEN and PORTS. the more the better Memory SSD's and High End Graphics. The things that are important to People that work for a liviing not sit in Mommys basement Gamiing and eating from Moms fridge.
