I have been using the Asus Zenfone 9 for just over 3 months now and I thought it was time I give you guys my long-term review. With S23 launching sometime this week, should you even bother to get the Zenfone 9 in 2023? Watch the video to find out :)

I've been using OnePlus 8 for the last couple of years and it is incomparable how worse the software gets with every update. And the problem is they won't let you NOT to update, so having NO update for this phone seems like a better option.

OnePlus 8 is the perfect phoen for Custom ROMs. And it looks like it would fit your usage better.

I absolutely love this phone. I swapped the black with a blue back and the black definitely wears nicer. The blue has scuffs on all four corners after a week. I still like the way it looks better though.

Hi. About that fingerprint scanner + power button. Does it always unlock as soon as you touch it? Is there any option to change the behavior so that it unlocks when you 'click', or something else?

Same here. Still using it and literally works like it did on day 1. Never lagged. Just some battery draining. But that’s understandable after 5 years of usage.

Hi, I am having a problem with the Asus device. When I take a selfie with flash, it takes a long time, about 7 seconds, until the device takes a picture. Is there a solution?

How much did it cost you bro ? I'm thinking of importing this from either Dubai or US. Liked this compact phone, but seems like Asus is trying to slowly stop selling any smartphones whatsoever.

Hey @TQNet, having used the phone for 3 months in India, did you face any issues with cellular connectivity/compatibility with Indian SIMs/networks? I've been pretty apprehensive about it so wanted to ask. Also - did you buy the phone from the US? Thanks!

I didn't face any cellular connectivity issues. I got this from Dubai although I think the actual model was from Hong Kong

I prefer the more natural pictures it takes. I had the Pixel 7 and S22u and hated the extreme overprocessing

The list of things I hate about my S22u is long and varied. Especially compared to the older OnePlus device it replaced. The only thing it seems to do correctly is in having a long battery life.

In my country it's still sold for the initial price. Next year it gets its last OS update. No go.

I mean the phone is still like 6 months old or something. Of course you can buy it in 2023. Hasn't even been discontinued yet, you don't even have to go to the resale market. It's like ask " would you still use the iPhone 14 in 2023."

The problem is the phone world moves soooo quickly , it's probably because theirs gonna be an Asus Zenefone 10 coming later this year. Still a good phone, only problem is the price. Pretty pricey

@Ateefa Tahreem Need to import. I don't think there is any other option. And reached out to ASUS India as well on this, they told there is no news as of now. If they decide to launch in India, we will get the news from Flipkart. 🤷🏻

hey just watched your videos and bought s22 few months ago and this Zenfone 9 is/was not available in india. Should i buy Zenfone 9 if get's launched in India? or should i go for s23? my main priority is the compactness and I am having issue with the Samsung's heavy software and too much customisation due to which it lags sometimes.

@AutoDaily596 mostly sharp edges of the case and generally slippery back. It's really awkward to hold without a case. Also the fingerprint scanner on the side is much better than the one under the screen. Zenfone was much better but there were issues with software and I generally preferred Samsung. I had to buy s23 again after numerous attempts and now I'm using it with the leather case which makes the phone really big and therefore i wouldn't say it's a good phone. But it's the best available phone in 2021-2023 I'm trying to go around the terrible design with skins now and the leather sticker did make it better. But basically it's a good phone that is very awkward to use. And yes, just in case, I have big hands but I never use my phone with 2 hands.

@@Soundwave857 Still, it'll get way longer software and service/repair support, the build will last longer, and the resale price will hold up better if anyone's considering reselling. Aside from that, zenfone 9 wins in battery life, cheaper price, and the build and software isn't something a skin with a little custom rom can't fix.

Only 30w charing and 3.5mm jack on top is a dumb choice. Cameras look stupid but still kind of clean and unique.

I beg to differ. The inhand feel and battery life is something which is still unparalleled. The cameras do look stupid though!

@@TQnet10 sure, although that's not what I mentioned. For me the in hand feel is not good enough to compensate for that 30w charging, my two year old xiaomi charges at double that, just feels like a cheap choice. Iam sure there's an explanation for it, perhaps something related to real estate on the phone itself.

The screen is my only main gripe with this phone! First off, curved corners on the display = eew Second, the bezels make it look like a phone from 2018/19.

Just got one from Amazon for $600, if you're in the US and make sure you buy from Mobile Advance. Also, the Zenfone only works with T-Mobile and AT&T towers, after updating to Android 13.

I wanted it to have wireless charging, I could go away without the 3.5mm headphone jack I don't need it I use wireless headphones. But without wireless charging this prevents me from getting the phone.

Why would you need wireless charging? 1.its expensive compared to traditional chargers 2.it charged slowly 3.it takes more space 4.not something you can bring in you pocket or something And the headphone jack means you could use external microphones and use headphones that are better which otherwise couldn't be in a wireless form factor
