The only problems are the price and the 2-year OS support. Otherwise, this is the best compact smartphone. Great engineering from Asus. They somehow managed to fit a 4300mah battery & *a headphone jack* when others couldn't... _cough Apple, Pixel, Samsung_ . Asus did great job. 👏🔥

@@quilotranza_moribundo_7772 I had a Pixel as a daily driver from ~2016-2021. Stock Android. ASUS has, on my Zenfone 8, some small customizations on stock Android (mostly extra apps) but I don't use those and have noticed ZERO practical difference between it and stock Android in day to day use. If you're worried about ASUS customizations on stock Android don't be. I'm not a camera expert; as a casual take-rando-family-photos user I haven't noticed a difference between ASUS and Google.

Thank you Asus!! I have been using multiple Sony Xperia Compact phones for 6 years now, because all I wanted is a small but quality phone. I love the fact that my current phone was like one of the last with a *side-mounted* fingerprint scanner, and now that feature is back with the Zenfone 9. I have never bought an Asus before, but I have pre-ordered the Asus Zenfone 9 and really looking forward to finally have a new flagship compact phone again! 🤩 After five years of 0(!) new phones, suitable for me, common sense has prevailed! Thumbs up for Asus 👍

@@HappyHappySY I am very happy with it. I am now using it for 4 days (received mine last friday) and I am especially blown away by the battery life compared to my Sony Xperia Compact. I started using it on Friday afternoon, didn't charge it at all and it reached 10% after 2,5 days (Sunday - Monday night at 1 AM). The phone is however just too big to handle with 1 hand in my opinion, but I have noticed already I prefer to use two hands over using the Android - one hand mode (which basically cuts ur screen in half). Overall, I love it so far!

@@HappyHappySY Perhaps something which isn't mentioned in all those review video's. The phone comes with a free bumper case. I think the short comings is offset by the 700 dollar price tag. Something LG refused to do. LG always lacked in a few categories and rather than target sub flag pricing they priced same as Samsung and iPhone . So reviews would butcher them. Then they would write it off as a flop and sell it at steep discount.then they tried new things rather than refined what they had that was good and the rest is history . Asus nailing it here. Not quite s22 camera so it's priced accordingly. Also I heard the software updates might be increased if the phone does well. Unfortunately will be hard to be adopted here in the USA if can do a trade in through carriers

@@elaminmochichi7767 It's not though. But because you keep saying it is, here's a quick rundown that may change your mind. Even with security patches not being provided from the phone manufacturer. Google still has some tricks up their sleeves. Google has with later phones made it possible to ship some security patches without the phone manufacturers needing to provide it. Also, With the help of Google play services, google has been able to make users all the way down to android 4.0 have the play protect feature, which scans your apps for malicious stuff. They've also been able to provide a secure web browsing for those people with chrome and its integrated software preventing websites from taking advantage. So, the fact that phones are just left completely targetable and vulnerable after latest available patches is just not true.

A good looking phone with good specs, though it is such a bummer that the chip still throttles. Cameras are convincing, but for the price I'd like to have a bit better, though the gimbal truly works. A great phone from Asus again anyways! They are becoming the number one brand for me, since I so much like their design decisions; software, looks and size. Their phones are too expensive for me though, but perhaps they one day release something lesser since I would be fine with let's say SD778G+/Dimensity 1300, IP52, Gorilla Glass 3... Asus, reducing screen size but still managed to increase battery, also gave a headphone jack, samsung on other side, this year we reduced 0.1 inch so we had to reduce battery, like for real, lol. Asus nailed it.!

I'm hoping that reviewers will include not just camera test that you can save as files, but real life scenarios when you upload to tiktok, Fb stories, social media apps. I have not seen any android device that can match the optimization of videos on social media and video calling like Apple.

799 seems steep with some omissions. I think 6a is still better value with more OS updates. Thats just my opinion, ik 120hz is important to some, but 90hz is a good middle ground.

I bought the galaxy s22 ultra upon release but always was intrigued by the Zenfone 8.. now I'm kinda thinking of getting this phone to swap out once in a while to try out the smaller form factor
@brainactivity737

The smaller factor feels so much better in the hands! It's also easier to carry around and you can use it for hours without it hurting your hands like the larger phones.
@GiovannyOlivares
@GiovannyOlivares 2 жыл бұрын
@@brainactivity737 I agree. I have an iPhone 12 for work and like the smaller form factor as it's more comfortable to use for longer periods compared to my S22 Ultra. I've compared the dimensions of the Zenfone 9 to the iPhone 12 and found they're about the same in length but the Zenfone is just a bit smaller on width, so I can imagine how much better in the hand this would fit.

more software updates and an SD card would make this prefect for me. Overall I love the design though. Maybe could have been a bit smaller, but this is as compact as we get in the Android world nowadays. Love the extra thickness for that chuncky battery.

I was choosing between the Zenfone 8 and Galaxy S21 FE for my most recent phone. I really wanted the Zenfone but couldn't justify the extra ~€200 cost. This new model looks great as well but I expect it will have the same issue. Besides, I'm hoping I won't need to upgrade again for a few years at least.
@JollyOldCanuck
@JollyOldCanuck 2 жыл бұрын
That extra $200 gets you a beefier cooling system and a bigger battery paired with a chip built on TSMC's power efficient 4nm process. This is one of the few scenarios where I believe the price increase in justified.
