God, I know we reply to him as Jimmy, because it's the only name we know him by. But Jimmy was never the one doing these things; Hurting Amy as a young boy, Lying about Doctor Boss as he reached around near 10 years old, playing on Harvey's strings, eating at any sanity the man had as a teenager, and finally letting who was always the one making Jimmy do these horrible things out after becoming a grown man, causing Rose to have no choice but to tell Jimmy his long forgotten past, and to take her own life. All leading to the end. ... Then it all makes sence; Jimmy Hall was never the one doing these thing. ... It was his father, *Hugo* Hall, the whole time. ...

I sorta thought that all the deaths were to either be by accident or by someone else’s hands, till the end of harvey’s story. Thought it was that he was a crazy sociopath, but not a murderer. Till he sent a sharpened letter opener through the guy’s neck.

The story’s of Hugo’s victims spoiler? 7:02 amy bell A little girl had stayed at the hotel MANY MANY years ago while jimmy was a boy but he bulled Amy such as taking her teddy bear and burning it and her hand and giving her medicine (whiskey) and that made her intoxicated but jimmy used a sword to threaten Amy so she wouldn’t tell her parentsand she fell down the stairs and died 7:51 dr.Bose He was a psychologist and was called to help with jimmys mental problems (because he drew violent drawing at a young age & the dead animal in his room) so as like a question he asked jimmy to do something nice for him and made him a glass sandwich and jimmy got mad because of the medication and then jimmy used a case of a abusive teacher to frame dr.Bose and of course told his mom (ms.hall) and then the news got to the police and he has got mad at this point since they stripped his licence of being a psychologist and h*ng him self since he was *lost in life* 10:15 Hugo hall Hugo was jimmy’s father (mr.hall worked at the sea view hotel and fell in love with Hugo)but he abused jimmy at a very young age so his mother ran in and hit him with a bat,then she hid his body in the basement while covering hhis body with cement 10:56 mr.harvey A guy who believed dr.Bose was innocent and has short temper and since he saw through jimmys lies he holds jimmy at gunpoint because jimmy set *little* pranks on him (making his heater explode if it was turned on and since that he smashed jimmy’s devices )then in a fit of rage stole a crossbow from a section of the hotel and used it on him.and furious already he locks jimmy into the boilerroom .since jimmy likes playing with fire he sets almost the whole hotel on fire and harvey tries to help jimmy from the fire but after the fire he realises jimmy escaped and now in a new fit of rage holds jimmy at gunpoint threatening him to stop but then he sharpes a letter opener and threw it at Harvey’s throat and well he dies but he is still blamed since it seemed like an act of defence jimmy was still *innocent* 14:05 rose hall (jimmy’s mom) She works at the hotel as a receptionist at the hotel itself while it was still unpopular until *hugo punch* got famous and everyone from across the whole world to see him but after many murders and defending her child she realises what she has been defending (as the news got to a lot of reporters) then Jimmy. Feels bad from murdering those people so he cuts his wrists in the shower (the sense where she comes in with a bat is the death of Hugo hall)all this time and burners herself alive

So Hugo Hall, Jimmy's dad is the main posthumous antagonist of At Dead of Night. Jimmy is the main antagonist of the game but Hugo was indirectly responsible for the whole events of the game considering he was very abusive to Jimmy and Jimmy had a really tough upbringing. Truth is, sure Jimmy is the main antagonist of the game but Hugo Hall was indirectly responsible for the whole events thus why I believe Hugo is the main posthumous antagonist of the game. I wish this game got a sequel so that there's a way to save Jimmy and break free from this madness he's been brought in ever since he was a kid.

Not quite, actually. Note at by the end, when Maya discovers Hugo's grave, Jimmy tells Maya that Rose thought she rid Hugo, but that she didn't get it, and that Hugo was just "another log in the fire, that's been burning down the Halls for centuries". This implies that Hugo himself wasn't in control either, and that something ELSE possessed him back when he was alive too, and when Rose killed him, the thing that possessed him went into Jimmy instead. I believe that it's actually some sort of demonic entity that's been haunting the Hall family and possessing the blood members, and turning them abusive. This added element makes Hugo Hall's story a bit tragic, if originally he was a loving man and actually wanted to raise a family, but the entity, like it did to previous Halls in the past, possessed him too.

What was Harvey's place in The hotel, did he own it? Also was Harvey Jimmy's step dad, since they seemed to Be "Close" to eachother, but not in a good way though. I this might be apparent somewhere in the game but my peabrain hasn't found it.

He’s his stepfather, but Jimmy believes he’s his actual father until after he kills him. Rose is the hotel’s owner after Hugo dies, Harvey has no ownership

@@lukascoffman1118wait really? where was it said that harvey was his stepfather? i also thought it was stated that harvey was the hotel proprietor? i assume rose took over after harvey’s death. im not saying rose was never the owner at some point or if harvey was related to the Halls but i dont recall seeing a mention of Harvey being biologically related to Rose or Hugo Reginal Hall. I know Hugo bought the place but Harvey introduces himself as ‘I run the place’ and the game refers to him as ‘Hotel Proprietor’ edit: typo

@@fifi2701 It’s never outright stated that Harvey and Rose got married, come to think of it, that was an assumption on my part. However, the hotel should’ve been Rose’s after Hugo’s death, and I’m not sure why she’d let a friend/boyfriend be proprietor (can’t remember if the game directly states that)

@@lukascoffman1118 The game introduces harvey as hotel proprietor and he says he ‘runs the place’ which tbf since hugo bought the hotel kinda. Confused with that? im sure rose owned it after his death but im pretty sure hugo was dead when harvey runs the place (jimmy’s screams during the scene hugo gets bonked to death are that of a really young boy)

Hugo died when Jimmy was very young but I'm not sure how old Harvey was when he died and how old Jimmy was when Harvey died so in conclusion who knows who Harvey is I wanted to say that he's Hugo's brother but that would make no sense

With only the cutscenes, you cant really understand the story of the game, they are not connected cutscene and you cant understand a damn. Only speaking to the ghosts will let you understand the story
