Yeah, Lamy was actually very smart to do that. It can be both a way to get a feel about how a company really is behind the scenes, and to show the interviewer that you're really interested in their company and not just in it for the money or fame.

I could be wrong but I think it's actually a solid idea to also probe the interviewer questions about their feelings and experience working with the company / association. This creates an image that "oh, this person is so on the board of joining us she cant wait to know how it's like working here", which adds on a layer of positive impression somewhat. Also, it's a good way for interviewee to spot red flags of a company too. If the interviewer avoids answering or shows no excitement or any sort of positive reaction in sharing the working environment there, it's often a good sign that the place isn't great to work with, or it has a troubled employee chemistry that you have to tip-toe around.

Avoiding the question/no excitement is such a red flag it might as well be a bright flashing light. For them to not even *pretend* to have a positive outlook on the environment is damning, like most people will at least lie.

As someone who interviews, this is a good strategy. Show enthusiasm as to why you want to work here and ask questions of the interviewers. You're interviewing them too. Still it is funny to see the mood whiplash too 🤣

Even if people see it as fakey fake, still she did put some efforts into trying her best for her interview to be good. No one would want their interviews to have a bad impression either. That alone is still appreciated, rather than poorly performed interviews.

There are many things you should ask your interviewer. The most obvious being your compensation. Monthly/Annual pay. Any bonus, and if so, how much? Health and dental insurance. How much paid time off? How many sick days? Work life balance? And this is just scratching the surface.

THAT’S HOW A JOB INTERVIEW SHOULD FEELS LIKE Both sides interviewing each other. I found that it is the best way to pick candidates with quality! So, showcase yourself. Interview is the greatest moment to do that. Doesn’t have to be THAT enthusiastic, but please show that you want to express your vision about working in a company. Jokes aside, it is a good question asking why would the current employees joined and continue to work at a certain company. It's good to learn about their work culture and the tangible things they have that encourage people to work beyond passion for the business (being entertainment, Technology, Law, food products, whatever area). So good on Lamy to use a pro-question move towards being hired

I wonder if it's different in Japan but when I was interviewing prepping it's very common to have several questions ready to ask the interviewer. Kinda show your interest in the position and company. And most of those were like why did you pick this company. What do you like the most about working here. What the most interesting work you done here.

This is pretty funny, but when we do interviews we always have 10 minutes or so set aside for the interviewee to ask questions about the company. I field questions like "How long have you worked here?" and "What's your favorite thing about working here?" all the time. So it's not unusual for a Lamy-style interview! 😀

If you take Superchat revenue and divide it by subscriber count, Lamy has the second highest ratio (about $1.70 per subscriber by my math), and the highest for an Active talent. By that metric, she's doing incredible. Being 4th in overall super revenue last I checked, and the only member of 5th gen or later to be up there, is also nothing short of impressive

its actually a good idea to ask the interviewer about that company, but thats only when the interview about you seems to be going well. you have to remember that you are gonna work for them and spend most of your time in their company. better to know what they think about working there before committing.
