A married designing couple (he the architect and she the interior designer), their shared vision of understated elegance resulted in the creation of Patina Farm. Once a vacant 5 acre lot, they created from scratch an authentic vision of indoor outdoor living for their three children and a plethora of pets (think dogs, chickens, goats and donkeys). This is taking relationships, creativity, quality of life and lives lived to another level. Shame our whole world is not designed with these principles in mind. So beautiful. I'd like this guy to be allowed to build a whole village or town, it would be so other worldly and deeply healing and therapeutic. I'm touched by the beauty and energy of this space even through my screen. It's like a glimpse of Arcadia on Earth. Thank you for sharing. x

I hope they live for many years beyond 2016. I'm watching in 2020. If I bought it, I would change nothing. Of course, I can't say that with most homes, no matter how lovely they are.

I just got through binge watching probably 15 of these…and the outside yards… I haven’t even made it into the house and I had to comment gushing remarks of praise…this is going to be the best one, I can already tell. Whoever designs a window arch to match the arch of a tree needs to be given some kind of special Grand Pooh Bah-nest designation. I left my comment open until the end of the video and I would like to stand by my original assessment. Perfection.

WOW!!! This is perfectly the house of my dreams. Every space, every corner, each detail is absolutely beautiful. I wish I can help them feed the chicks once in a while, just to be surrounded by such magical ambiance. I am a decorator myself, and let me tell you: they did a perfect job!!!

A house and garden of natural beauty.....so down to earth, cosy but with elements of art as well. Great place. And Susanna, the tall fairy ended up in this wonderful bathtub. Shows again that she had the right chemistry with the hosts, who are lovely people.

They're extraordinary. That's the thing people love and admire so much about you mysterious, ingenious Americans: you can dream up and then build the most exquisite places of paradise in such astonishingly short periods of time. In Australia, in the UK etc...it would be so rare to see a couple build something like Patina Farm-- all of it. grounds and all, from scratch-- in FIVE YEARS. Unbelievable. Hats off!

This house is so lived in but in such a graceful lovely manner. I would have loved to have seen MORE of the house. But the roses are simply to die for. Love the way they vine around the patio and garden. Also I thought what a clever idea of the closet that's tucked into the thick wall by the dinning room window. What a fabulous architectural design. I will remember that should I ever get to build my dream house.

I followed Brooke's blog throughout the building of this gorgeous home & property. These 2 have got to be one of the most talented duos to come along. They mesh their style so perfectly & Steve is a brilliant architect I would hire without question (should I ever come to afford him.) I laughed when you were, "one more thing" in the tub😁 I wish you would have shown the pond & more of the home but understand the constraints.💓

I love this home. I love the outside space even more than the interior of the house. Those gardens are heavenly. The roses are so blowsy and wonderful. The goats are lovely. The chickens are free-range. And the open air bathroom leading out to those beautiful trees-almost divine!

I absolutely love this house. It is beautiful. It looks rich but lived in, it's not spread out over a mile with two or three stories. It is small really cozy and comfortable even with all the white and marble. I adore it.

we just bought a spanish house in L.A. and we are obsessed with the Patina Farm, we are in the progress of creating our front with many shades of lavander, box wood and Iceberg roses from Otto and sons. Love the ash furniture inside and the gravel all around the house.

You can recreate any concept, no matter what scale, with attention to detail. They have created a wonderful atmosphere that is a blend of many different styles. And it all works cohesively. Relaxed yet elegant. Kind of French and Spanish blend of Mediterranean warmth.
