I think the interpretation of 'And I think I'm dying, but I'm just being born.' is that Bill hates the takeoff, but once it's in the air the flight is amazing. Perhaps this is a reflection of his first flight, and it was scary at first, but he came out of it as a new person. In general, I feel like his music contains messages that deal with cooperation and learning from other people.

Guys I don't think you understand how hard it is to even concieve such a complex chord progression, this song just sounds like it was made by a guy who spent at least 8 years in music school. I will make a very detailed reviews of Bill Wurtz songs because I have nothing better to do. This song is about trying to let go of your past but being stuck in our unpleasent memories that are constantly leaving and coming back and torturing us. Terminal floor is the place that we are stuck in. Planes represent unusual or unpleasant memories that we try to escape from. Basically, we are stuck in the terminal, which can be considered as an incurable disease that makes us miserable in an unusual way that makes us believe we are fine but we actually suffer. Last but not least, porridge that was heated for a wrong amount of time represents depression and unwillingness to participate in the real life actions, thus being stuck rolling in the terminal floor.

I always come back to this song. I work at an airport and this tune gets stuck in my head all the time when the planes are coming and going. XD

I listened to this after six months of being totally homeless after my family kicked me out and disowned me. They acted like me moving across the country was a huge insult, and that I'll never accept their love. I listened to this at the airport. The line "as i'm saying goodbye to the world I know" as I see the little Long Island i live on disappear in the distance fucking smashed me. "when i'm there i'll imagine where i came from then i'll imagine my way back home" I still have dreams about the place I spent my whole life. It's weird being in California. Topographically it's all different. The people are different. The places are different. But I'm learning new shit. Not like I'll be here forever. We didn't go on vacations when I was younger, so the island was all I knew. Good to get a broader perspective. Sometimes I wake up and think I'm still there.

I love how this reflects when you are leaving home and going to an unknown country. The anxiety increases and you just think too much about what could go wrong but also part of you starts to feel positive at some point because all is new and you're secretly excited about the new experiences that are about to come. This feels almost like a metaphor, not for death as another person said, but for growing up. Getting past highschool and going into job/college. The airport terminal being that transition period of your life that everyone goes through. Getting through highschool almost feels like your dying/drowning (especially if you're grinding for getting good colleges) but really you're being born, entering the main section of your life be it college or a job. "imagining where the planes are going" is where everyone else you know is going. The "night" definitely has something to do with this too but I'll figure it out later. this song feels a lot like going through a difficult life change (like breaking a friendship, or even a literal move to somewhere else) and struggling to accept that it's happening and to cope with its necessity even though it was a choice and probably a positive change, the thought of leaving what's familiar behind and venturing into the unknown is terrifying (see the line about clinging to the terminal floor, you're already at the nexus of change but you're still having second thoughts)
