The Theology Pugcast

Ай бұрын

While in Oxford, the guys had the opportunity to visit the Duke Humfrey's Room at the Bodleian Library. This houses part of the library’s collection of rare books as well as some more recent sets. The conversation ranges over volumes in the collection that caught the attention of one or the other of the Pugsters, the architecture and decorations of the room, and the importance of the atmosphere and the sense of place in rooms like this for scholarly work. This is an episode you’ll want to see!

I think it's the fact that you are surrounded by a cloud of witnesses through those books.

Thank you. I've seen photos of the Bodleian, but never a filmed tour.

I did sabbaticals at Oxford. The best university in the world. The book collections in the many libraries are incredible. I used to be a library archivist before becoming a professor. I am in heaven around old books like these.

The tour was great. But the table discussion was something special. Thank you, Glenn, Chris and Tom!

❤ Just wanted to say Thank You for doing this! I thoroughly enjoyed the visual tour of the library while Glenn brought us some relevant history. Please do more like this! Maybe some gothic cathedrals or places of antiquity relevant to church history. This was a blast! ❤

Gotta love the construction guy being interested in where the heating radiators are located. That would be the first thing I'd notice too.
