Railworks needs custom horns and sounds

I think I see what you were saying with your conclusion: It's now a route that you *can* have fun with, but we've been to Donner Pass already & seen it done better. I will say though, some of those shots, particularly the GP9s at sunset, blew me away like MSTS never could. Finally, I get a strange feeling from that ending, like it was saying goodbye not just to this route, but to At the Railyard itself. Am I seeing things that aren't really there?

That's stupid, I love old SP searchlight signal bridges. They are getting rid of em though, new signal bridge east end tunnel 41 (big hole).

one thing i would personally love seeing mainline productions createing for train simulator (railworks) is the crossroads of america (Seymour, IN) along with both railway lines going though it and the first train robbery on railworks. he has recreated a canadian railway for MSTS but seeing my hometown on there durring the 1800 to 1900s would be . . . well i cant put it into words the feeling i would feel please edleast try

Unfortunately my paycheck didn't allow me grab this during the steam sale. But since I'm a complete SP nutcase (living in Pennsylvania...go figure) I am definitely going to grab this now that most bugs were worked out. Even more excited to run a cab forward in another sim.

several of the issues that you pointed out are either the locomotive issues or an over all railworks problem. Since I use it as a modern day route with UP, I don't see the issues with the SP loco. The only thing that bugs me is that near Auburn there are several spots that I noticed a gap between the tracks and the ground which is just terrible.

Meant to add that some of your complaints, like crews in all cabs, dynamic brakes not working, & the physics being wonky, that's more to do with Railworks itself than with this route.

Can you do a review for Northeast Corridor from Railworks. I got it and it has many faults. Flooting cars is 1 of the problems. Maybe your review can do some good and will push Railworks to make their product better. Now, i feel ripped of. Nice review for Donner Pass, thanks for that.

awesome review but Ski Region Simulator 2012 for $20 has accumulated snow in the sim and Railworks should try and add it.

If it's not too much trouble, do you think you could review RSC's Settle-Carlisle route? The actual route itself is the most scenic in England.

Whilst that maybe true its an issue Railworks have known about for years but yet to address. And could have addressed. They've address the driver isues in UK based Electric and Diesel Multiple Units (Railcars) but not Locomotives.

They haven't added the Roseville station in Ca. I'm working on that with a good partner ;)

sounds like the weird horn thing that I find common amongst the railworks locos, good thing I have bought MSTS. I feel that for an older game it's probably still superior in gameplay, sounds, rolling stock choices, third party content, and general ease of use.

You should, if still possible do a review of a freeware route for MSTS that takes place on Carrizo Gorge.

There is something weird I've noticed in Donner Pass. Scenario: The Follower (EMD SD45), I have started playing and I've coupled my train and have hit the mainline. The speed limit was 30mph and was going something like that. Then the next speed limit was 20mph. When I started braking with the TRAIN BRAKE, the train slowed down and as I released the brakes, the coupler between the loco and first car compressed and the cars have brutally pushed the loco and speed went off from 15mph to 30mph

Well I've got the SD45, and it works great but a small issue with the engine, it rews up in run 1, and EMD's have idle rpm and sound in run 1! But I can forgive that, cuz it thunders with 3600HP in run 8!

I really loved the cab forward.

Okay, maybe that was a bit extreme. Railworks is still a fun game for doing things like watching trains roll by and causing mayhem like crashing and derailments. I especially love the funny little glitches I come across every now and then like when you're driving and all off a sudden, the train just flies up into the air. Even though it's fun, it just sucks as a simulator.

Its all in the locomotive simulation blueprints being completely wrong. The brake release rate is 9.3PSI/sec when it should be something like 0.8-1.2PSI/Sec

Can't beat Run 8.

Two things, one: Great job as always putting the reviews together, I like the fourth piece of music, really powerful. Two: glad the route finally got the seal, it might not be a strong shot for Railworks, but the scenery makes it decent, fun to ride in a sightseer lounge along this line. Nice job Nick!

Great review! That was a nice scene at the end with the cab forward - it reminded me of your review of "The Storm of 1952" for MSTS. Also, I know that there's a mixed reception among train simmers at the news that RSC will be releasing Marias Pass sometime in the future. What do you think of the news? And are you planning on reviewing that particular route when it is released?

I have to say that the route really pulled my interest this time around, great job with the review. Also, I've never felt comfortable with the dynamic braking in either of the two simulators I own (MSTS and RailWorks). It simple doesn't seem to produce the desired effect and I find myself not even bothering with it.

Speaking of the "Pass" routes, can you please do a series of reviews on the different versions of the Marias Pass route? It has been popular route since the release of MSTS. HP Trainz has made two versions for Trainz and Railsimulator will be releasing one for Railworks very soon.

Mine has no signal holders, any help, anyone?

I notice that the route for Train Simulator 14 still has places that are flat on the pass. I thought it would have been fixed.

Great review, all the things you said are true and are the exact reason I've put Railworks away and never play it anymore. Once you play Run 8 in a multiplayer session you will never go back. The graphics aren't as good as Railworks, but the physics and realism are second to none.

Have you ever intentionally ran an engine into the buffers in Roseville in the free roam yard scenario? Do that, and watch what happens.

Railworks/Train Simulator 2013 SUCKS!!! The only thing this game has going for it is the graphics. Everything else (sounds, physics, performance, etc.) are all garbage! Then they try to get you to buy their WAY overpriced content! Honestly, I think this game is more for gamers than us "true" railfans. If you want a "real" train simulator, get Trainz (my favorite), or MSTS. STAY AWAY FROM RAILWORKS!!!
