The korean title of this song is translated with “coolness, style”. The song is basically about what it really means to be cool, not in the sense of what society thinks is stylish, but what makes a person real and authentic. The translation “cool” actually has a deeper meaning in korean and it’s linked to Korean society and its values. So they’re saying that coolness has nothing to do with what we wear, what we look like or who we hang out with. You are cool if you stay true to yourself and your values and if you follow your own style no matter what society might say. Their values as a group are being kind and humble, that’s why they repeat this a lot in the song. They criticize those who judge others, those who pretend respect but never give it in return hypocrisy. Mingi is a new student of Ateez Highschool. There, the other members are divided in 3 different groups and each of these groups think that their style is the coolest. Calligraphy club (Hongjoong and Seonghwa): humility and kindness (these words are written on the pieces of paper hanging in the room and Hongjoong is actually writing the word humility) Bikers gang (Yunho and Jongho): loyalty and faith (sometimes you have to be a little bit rebellious in order to stay true to yourself) Baseball team (Wooyoung and San): determination and passion (the baseball bat that San carries around is on flame and “Passion Choi San” is written on it). Btw the team is called “Humble” as you can see on their tshirts. These groups are initially against each other and they’re trying to recruit Mingi. He’s reading a book about morality and that’s why it seems that he has superpowers. The others are very loud, dancing around him, but he stays calm because he doesn’t have to prove anything to anyone. Yeosang (the brad guy) doesn’t belong to any of the groups and he symbolizes freedom and peace (that’s why there are doves behind him and he’s eating bread like the birds). So the meaning is that you are free to be who you want to be and peacefully coexist with others who are different from you. During the final confrontation Mingi speaks his mind against one representative of each style and the ray of light that is generated creates a new book (different styles combined with morality). At this point Yeosang joins the rest of the group because finally the war between styles is over. They say “real recognize real” so even if they were rivals, they now recognize and respect each other thanks to the combination of their values. I hope you'll understand the general meaning 😄😄😄

Another rabbit-hole you won't escape from! Thanks to Skz participation in Kingdom, I also got on the Ateez and SF9 trains and there's no sign of those trains stopping 😂 My current favourite Ateez tracks are Cyberpunk and Halazia and I can't stop listening to them! They're good friends with Skz and, frankly, they give off the same chaotic energy.

No title track from Ateez ha disappointed me so far I can definitely see myself listening to them for a long time although I don't necessarily stan (I refuse to conform to the standing thing culture it's stressful 💀) them it's just I genuinely enjoy the music they make

This kind of song and the instruments are all traditonally Korean style. 💞 In Korea traditional songs are called TROT. This song is not exactly trot but it borrows many of the elements. Also many of the members speak in their own regional accents/dialects when they sing. I recently discovered this song and im so obsessed with it 😂💞

White bread as far as i know is an anime reference, specifically those school animes where characters run to school with bread in their mouths. The video itself is like an anime too. Thanks for reacting!!!

Thanks for the reaction :) Ateez is an 8 member group under KQ Entertainment. They debuted on October 24, 2018. The fandom is called Atiny (Ateez+destiny). Their discography is vast and flawless with very different styles, genres and concepts. They are known for their insane stage presence. Recommendations: Guerrilla, Be with you, Halazia and Wake up.

Thank you very much. Yea, those are the songs that had been suggested already in the comments of my Bouncy reaction. I haven't gotten around to watch them yet, but Halazia and Guerrilla are the next on the list. They were two of the most suggested. I still need to figure out what Ateez is all about. Four months ago I had been a girl group only listener for seven years and started out with Stray Kids here... I did listen to some male artist before but not really boy groups... there was some Loco, some Colde and Jay Park. Now I've dived pretty deep into Stray Kids and Exo... scratching at some Seventeen.... There are so many groups I want to take a look at and Ateez will be one of them. There is also Day6, Riize, Enhypen, TXT etc....

Oh right, they performed this song during Kingdom but since Mingi (the rapper with the low voice) wasn't there, they redid it and they changed it to let Mingi having his part. And I also think that this MV is based on a movie but I don't remember the name 😅

Im not sure if it is just the video, but i wish their vocals were just a bit more... 'forward'? Im not sure what the correct term is. I have an auditory processing disorder that specifically affects my ability to... clearly hear low tones? (Aka, mens voices) so i can hear the sound, but struggle to hear what they are actually saying. I really like Stray Kids because the voices were always so up front and enunciated?

I get what you mean... It is mixed very much "into" the song
