The second performance was the final round of kingdom and the signs that came out were the logos of all the participating teams with the words of ‘let’s have a meal together after the show finishes’ (I believe that’s what it said) to show how friendship came before competition.

The Answer : Ode to Joy stage is my favourite Ateez performance on Kingdom. All their other performances are absolutely amazing but this one brought tears to my eyes. The fact that they chose to perform this song for Atinys. It got me so emotional. La Poem, the quartet tt was featured in the performance, is a vocal crossover grp. I absolutely adore this "Answer: Ode To Joy" performance. It might actually be my favorite one of their whole time on K:LW in terms of group stages ("Love Poem" was my favorite overall from the show as a whole, which was the vocal unit collab between Eunkwang of BTOB, Seungmin of SKZ, and Jongho of ATZ). The recorded version they released later, with Mingi on the track, is better... but something about this performance just left me speechless. The fact that "Answer" was my first ATEEZ song, the one that immediately pulled me in, just adds weight to my feeling for this. The behind-the-scenes bits during the episode where they show them planning and practicing for this stage include Hongjoong explaining that this was done for the fans, and that they wanted to set it up kind of like a timeline... starting with "Say My Name" (Yeosang trapped and getting released), then "Answer" (complete with a full set of Halateez thanks to backup dancers), and wrapping up with "Wonderland" (Jongho walking up the stairs). The choreo is so creative and amazing to me. I mean, sure they're 'fighting' and defeating their enemies, but even little nuances are in there -- like when Woo tries to hold San back, but San shakes his head and moves Woo's hand off his shoulder, then turns and launches himself at the Android Guardian to take him down. Hongjoong's rap is beautiful; he basically calls back to it being 8 fates that led them to each other, which I love since Mingi wasn't able to be there for the show. Another moment I love is when Jongho has the crown and gets to the top of the stairs, he throws his arm back as the music cuts out for just a moment -- look at his hand as he walks back down... he literally threw the crown, like "This doesn't even matter to us". I got the same feeling as they all walked away, like they were looking back at where they'd been but the future was more important, and the future was with ATINY since they built their performances with us in mind. Side note: La Poem is great, and they actually did a cover of "Answer" that you can find on their KZfaq page. Their voices are heavenly. --- So, this "The Real" performance is awesome for me because it's got bits from "The Leaders" as an intro... and WhisperTEEZ gets me every time. The Korean word 멋 translates to "fashionable". In the episode, I think it's Yunho who realizes that a slight change to 맛 and it translates to "taste" or "flavor". I found it really interesting since one's fashion will typically reflect one's personal taste or flavor (although certainly not in the sense of it being delicious, lol). Anyway, the lyrics basically say that being humble and kind is more fashionable than wearing stylish clothes but having a bad personality. The MV they released for "The Real" (without the intro we see here, but with Mingi) is visually stunning and has stuff all over the walls and hanging banners naming character traits and promoting belief in yourself. To me, the whole idea is that you should cultivate good character traits, and then just always show the real you. The "killing parts" where one member says something that sounds more accented, they're speaking in their natural satoori (regional dialect). Idols are typically encouraged to drop dialects and just speak something closer to the Seoul dialect... but considering the lyrics, this is the perfect song to throw dialect into, and it works so very well. Oh, and Jongho breaking the apple ~ they do a great call-back to that in the MV.

Finally some Answer: ode to joy appreciation!!! It still gives me goosebumps every time! I absolutely love it. Like the mixture is so odd but idk, it just works?. Most people prefer the wonderland performance but this one right here is just 🙌🏻

kingdom itself was a joke but the performances are the best ones. if you don’t know mingi and hyunjin were on hiatus when they attended the show and some of the btob members were still in the military. All they could take with them were the experiences and friendships that were formed. and ateez was the youngest amd newest group there after stray kids and the boyz. you need to watch the show but don’t mind the ranks they got haha. loved your reaction like always and thank you, have great night/day ❤

Sadly, this was COVID days, so there wasn't a live audience. What's so dang amazing to me is that this is one take for these performances. Yes, lots of cameras, but each performance is one live take. You missed a couple of the group performances; the Wolf performance with Stray Kids and Peniel from BTOB (bee-too-bee) was the dance group, and there was a rap group with the same three groups combined, highlighting their rappers (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/r7p6nK6bv9-ZiKM.html), and then there was a vocal performance featuring SKZ Seungmin, BTOB's Eunkwan (he's amazing), and our golden maknae, Jongho (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qMVym8eFvL7VYWQ.html). There was also another Jongho performance that they did with vocalists from each group as a closing number (kzfaq.info/get/bejne/b8qgedCWnae9kXk.html). So glad you enjoyed them!
