to explain a bit about what's going on in the video, the boys are all in different clubs: san and wooyoung are in the baseball club, hongjoong and seonghwa are in the calligraphy club (that's why they're dressed traditionally), jongho and yunho are in a motorcycle gang, mingi is the new kid at school and yeosang plays the part of bringing peace, that's why he's surrounded by white pigeons and dressed in white when he comes to them. he stops them from fighting and brings them all together.

The song: 멋 is a Korean word without a direct English equivalent--real, style, and cool are attempts to catch the meaning, but it has an underlying idea of honor, so it's about how what's really cool/stylish is to be humble, respectful*, and kind. *Bowing is one way Koreans show respect which is why there was a lot of bowing and sayings like lower your head and bend down as you mature. Fun fact: Korean has multiple dialects with the Seoul dialect being the standard (it's what Korean language learners are taught). In the song when the music stops, the member speaks in his dialect (most Ateez members are from the countryside but have been trained to speak Seoul dialect in their content), kind of like if someone spoke with a southern drawl and the next person spoke with a Jersey accent. The video: Appears to be based on Volcano High, a popular Korean movie in 2001 about a transfer student with special powers who ends up at a school with warring factions who are trying to find a book of power. Ateez's twist--The book they find when they put their powers together is essentially a book of morality, a book about 멋. (If you want more details watch Form of Therapy's reaction). Hahaha you guys seem like me - Turbulence wasn't really my cup of tea, but that's also my personal music tastes. It's not that it's a bad song, it's just *not my taste* . I love Ateez's harder shit and The Real nailed it. (Still can't top Hala Hala, but like really what can?) Since it looks like you haven't run headlong into them, Ateez got some frnds in a group called Oneus. They're honestly like a jack of all trades in musical styles, but my personal favorites: Lit (biggest rec of the goddamn century - there's 2 versions, I'd rec starting with the actual MV and then getting to the RTK/Taekwondo version where they flip some things -literally- around), Valkyrie, and No Diggity. *edit: also Shut Up Crazy Hot! major rec* Softer/mellower songs: Luna (most recent release, and their relay dance for it is freaking hilarious), Black Mirror (hello MJ vibes), Twilight, A Song Written Easily (basically your standard post-breakup song lol but the whistling keeps it kinda intriguing.) Also if you want to watch it on your own, you have *got* to see Ateez & Oneus's joint Weekly Idol appearance. There's a reason it's legendary lmao. Another rec: KARD. You want some hype songs? These two guys and two gals got your ass *covered* (yep it's a coed group!) - in order of descending heaviness: Dumb Litty, Gunshot, Bomb Bomb, Red Moon, and Oh Na Na are some of my personal faves.
