Atelier Interactive Acrylic - Unlocking Formula

Atelier’s Unlocking Formula has been specifically designed to help you control the drying of Atelier Interactive. It allows you to keep your acrylic paint wet for as long as you need. Mix the ‘Unlocking Formula’ into your paint with either a brush or an atomiser spray. This ‘Formula’ will keep your paint wet, it will also re-wet or re-open recently dried paint. Once the paint is re-opened, new paint can be blended back in, existing paint edges can be feathered or whole sections can be removed with a rag to reveal under layers.

WOW, thank you for such an informative and inspiring tutorial. I've adored working with Atelier's paints for many years now but this 'unlocking formula' with surely take the artistry to another level with it's versatile pliability! :)

Any thing to reactivate dried traditional acrylic ??

Does the unlocking formula work with other acrylic paint brands? I have so much of other brands already.

Hi Andy, I've done a quick bit of research online and can't see it being widely used with other brands of acrylic other than Atelier Interactive. I would be slightly concerned with how other brands of acrylics would behave after they have been 'unlocked' in terms of drying and consistency however that being said, I would try it out and see how the paint reacts :)

These paints look extremely interesting. Do they have some secret formula that other acrylic paint companies don't know?

There are some acrylics such as Golden Open that stay wet for longer, but the unlocking formula is a unique product, I personally don't know another company that produces such a product.

Jackson's Art Supplies Yeah it definitely seems like a unique product. It makes me think they have a secret recipe that other paint companies don't know about yet. Thanks for the great video. I think I really have to try these paints out.

Robert, actually, the Golden Open Thinner can be sprayed on touch dry Open paint.
