Yes, I used brass. They do provide too much resistance. I didn't know what else to use? Thanks for the suggestion.. I'll certainly look for phosphor wire at my local hobby supply store.

@Chris Daniell Chris, it comes in various diameters, so get smallest, about 0.010.

My Athearn car has a LokSound decoder and capacitor (current-keeper) because the brass pick ups I made aren't the best. The decoder then has outputs for the motor (there is none) and a number of lighting functions as well as sound (it's a top-notch LokSound decoder). I've then wired each light to a function output and set it up so when you hit F6 (for example) it turns on two of the function outputs at the same time. There are no interior lights on my Athearn car. With regards to my Rapido cab car, I threw a LokSound 5 decoder in that and then heavily modified the sound settings to match the prototype. The interior lights function using the Rapido wand if I wave the wand over the centre of the car. In all likelihood, because you're using a Tsunami sound decoder, it doesn't have the function outputs for lights or motor, it's a sound decoder and that's it - no other functions. Best thing to do would be throw it on the program track in JMRI and see what options are available to tweak? Good luck.

@Chris Daniell Thanks as that's my next step as I have JMRI running on my Raspberry Pi setup. I traced all the lines on Rapido's DCC card and one connection I haven't made is to AUX4. But that shouldn't matter for interior light's as Rapido says that their independent of the decoder.

It all depends on Rapido's schematics and what output they've connected to Aux4? Usually the pins correspond to specific functions and those pins correspond to NMRA standards. If Rapido is saying their lights function independent of the decoder, it tells me you might have a faulty light board? I dunno.

@@chrisdaniell2990 AUX4 and 5 are two L & R strobe lights that GO cabs don't have. Thanks for the conversation. BTW, interior lights work if I reinstall Rapido's DCC light card. So. Have to trace circuits more critically.

Sounds like you're going to have to direct the Tsunami to the function output you wish to control? At the end of the day, blame Rapido.... I dunno why they just didn't release a sound / non-sound version? I'm already spending huge money, they should have just asked for more $$$ so everyone gets what they want from the beginning. I'm sure plenty of us have opted to install sound in this car and this is a missed business opportunity for Rapido. It's also a point of contention as it creates a bit of animosity between myself and Rapido... they certainly didn't think things through or they 'cheaped out' and took the easy way out, choosing to help themselves at the expense of customer satisfaction.

I did my best with the programming - it's not like there's a 'how to' manual out there on what to do. It works, it has sound, that's all that matters to me.
