Look out, indeed! With Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone back on track - literally and figuratively speaking - her competitors are understandably on edge. After all, they are up against the current 400-meter hurdles world record holder. From here, meaning at the top spot in the event, Sydney aims to keep going forward.
With the Paris #olympics fast approaching, she is more determined than ever to maintain her top spot. After an injury sidelined her for much of the 2023 season, including the #trackandfield World Athletics Championships in Budapest, fans had been eagerly awaiting Sydney’s return to form.
On that note, fans were delighted when she made her long-awaited return to the track in April as a member of a women’s 4x100-meter quartet at the Mt. SAC Relays in California, where she, along with her team, finished second place. Competing at the Hilmer Lodge Stadium in Walnut, California, United States, #sydneymclaughlin , along with Keni Harrison, Jenna Prandini, and Morolake Akinosun ran for the Formula Kersee, securing second place behind Team International. The winning team was composed of Dina Asher-Smith, Rhasidat Adeleke, Lanae Tava-Thomas, and Julien Alfred. While Team International clocked 42.03 seconds, Formula Kersee followed, recording 42.93 seconds.

@@Taeallday802 no hate all I love Sydney AND Femke For me unlike you,I stated the facts. Not choosing one or the other but both, it’s a great rivalry, I’m American and stated I think Sydney may win by a few tenths, but don’t count out Femke. Because Femke just took down Sydney’s lead, and is the world champion in the 400mh, not Sydney as well as multiple other events. She earned it like Sydney did. Sydney is the Olympic champion and has the top world record times from two years ago, she has not matched those since, and is coming off injury and very few races, so we don’t yet, know if she will win the race. She is the favorite, but I have to be fair to Femke, she is the world champion, Sydney being injured is not her fault , as it would not be the other way around. She also has the current world lead time, that should be acknowledge so as such, I give them both respect and a chance to win the olympics, although Femke is the underdog, because she has not beat Sydney, just Muhammad, and does not have the world record. It is you who are totally dismissing the current world leader and championing, that is a BIASED HATER!!! I have only one question,,Why.? No matter who wins women’s sports wins because both are Amazing Women!

@@EaEnkiSumer Please explain your logic (which we all know you don't have)? For as far as I know anybody who runs faster than the current record has the new record. And given the ease with which Femke runs at the moment and with which she ran that 51.45 last season (she actually has not been pushed by anybody in 2023 and 2024, 36 wins in a row!), I am actually quite confident that Femke will break the record in the near future.

I beg to differ. I have been around a long time and watched a LOT of athlletics. I still believe that the current 100, 200,400 and 800 meters world records are ALL doped records. I loved Flo Jo, but no way in hell did she not juice up..II can't see the 100 being broken. The 200 - possiblly. The big one for me is the 400.. I truely believe that Sydney could get that one!! I hope so. She is so far ahead in the 400 H that i hope she goes for the flat 400 after this year. The fact that Sydney has a 22:05 200 is crazy. Sub 49 400..Her range is just awesome. And she is just awesome .Shame that she doesn't get as much coverage as the 100 m women. Praying that she stays injury free for the next few years because I believe that we are going to see something very special from her in more that one event. 🙏🙏❤

For someone who last race 2022 to produce that time. Imagine she had been racing like Femke it would have been another world record by now. So I’ll say Femke should watch out now cos her 52.49 ain’t gonna last much as Sydney is back and better. Looking forward to the clash at the olympics❤❤❤

I have to laugh at all the American sports media and the guy narrating this video, lol. They avoid talking about Femke Bol as if she was an awful curse. Having said that, I am not taking anything away from this amazing champion, but she will be facing another amazing champion in Paris.

There's a list out there of all the Olympic athletes who got doctors excuses to use ped doping, many famous athletes are on it and won gold in the USA and Europe, its legal, but no Russians were allowed to do this, they have a double standard, even clean Russians were banned, they banned the whole nation before the Ukraine war. But neither Bol or Sydney is on that list so I think both are clean.

Euhm, no. On the flat Bol is actually FASTER (3x World Record) On the Hurdles McLaughlin has the WR, which is 0.77 faster than Bol's PB. However McLaughlins 2nd best time is 51.41, which is only 0.04 faster than Bol's PB.

@@rientsdijkstra4266 The indoor track is completely different, you don't experience the same sensations as on a stadium track. There are 6 lanes instead of 8. The sides are raised, it is not flat, the turns are sloping. On corridor 6 we go down and back up. The athlete who inherits this lane is determined by drawing lots and then based on their results in the different series. The track circumference measures 200m instead of 400m and the length is only 50m instead of 100m. As a result, not all race formats are found indoors. So, there is no 100m but 60m, 400, 800, 1500 and 3000m. Certain advantage: no rain, no bad weather conditions and of course no wind! Little guy is going to play with barby 🤗

@@EaEnkiSumer Yeeessss.... And now try telling me something NEW??? All those things so neatly summarize (thanks for that) are precisely why running on an indoor track is HARDER. So the same time on an indoor track is BETTER than that time outdoor, and this is reflected in the resultscores on World Ahtletics, which make a "translation" (ever heard of that word?) of the performances on different tracks: Bol's World Record of 49.17 gets a result score of 1272 on WA while McLaughlins PB of 48.75 gets a resultscore of only 1257. So actually you have only CONFIRMED what I said all along... Thanks!
