Doesn't that raised belly height affect performance in some areas. Yes better break over angles. But a higher cog for climbing and side hilling?

Nope allows you to get everything lower

to a certain extent, yes, however with as small as most new transmissions and transfer cases are and how little they generally weigh the loss of cg in not nearly what you would think it to be

you can also lower the height of the entire truck back to the original skid height and effectively have lower cg than before.
