This brings back memories of the days when I was a volunteer firefighter for St.Helens Oregon and I been on a few big fires on my days and I can't believe how things have change since I was a volunteer firefighter and I miss those days. Good looking firetrucks. Keep up the great job everyone is doing there

@dazedconfuzed69 жыл бұрын
Max Starmer They are pumping themselves up, no different than a sport team in a huddle yelling "go team" because firefighters need to be at top of their game and very alert. Better question, would you rather an enthusiastic firefighter or a lazy one.

+Chris Mould With all do respect, I can see where your mind is. However, as a firefighter you go to someone when their world is absolutely falling apart. The reason a firefighter does the job they do is because they love the thought of helping one another. Secretly, we love fire, no question about it. I mean it takes one crazy SOB to do what we do. That's why we do it. A firefighter doesn't jump up and down for joy when that tone goes off and their station is knocked out on a fire. Actually they prepare themselves for something that is foreign to them. They go and they play. They love to put the wet stuff on the hot stuff. That's their job. That's why we do what we do. It is good to have someone like that protecting your community. Because that ensures you that that firefighter will be there when you call without hesitation. You want someone like me who shows up to work an hour early to have coffee, check my gear, go through equipment, and talk with the other firefighters on that day. Why? Because I love doing it. If you have a job where you go to work that excited and that early. It basically ensures that the job will be done more efficiently. So if you ever encounter a firefighter do that again. Next time don't think, WOW, how rude and inconsiderate! Think WOW, they are ready to save someone's house, life, or property.

+Taylor H With all this "strategically placed" and CAD bull hockey, your right they probably don't. Fire prevention is at such an all time high that when fire runs are made, it puts us at a higher risk considering the fire has went through its intensity stage yet.

Nah man these guys run their ass off day & night and fight fires all the time. It's called loving the job. They WANT to fight fires and get excited about it. They have a Facebook page, look up Atlanta Fire Company #1.
@gocoastgaurd7218 жыл бұрын
+firepower782 they get the same as we get when we get a worker. I'll never forget the day that it was five minutes before the end of shift, and the tones drop for a firefighter on scene reporting a working structure fire. It went from an, o"h, this going to be BS" (due to the timing we normally have a wreck around then and it is almost always minor) to "LET'S GO!!!!!!! WOOOHHHOOO!!!!!" We hadn't had a fire in our first due in about two years. This year we've had seven.

what is Mobile AIR Unit (Air 7 ) ???
@JacksonRig6 жыл бұрын
Black Eagle An air unit is a unit sometimes referred to as an Air/Light/Rehab. These trucks carry a system called a cascade system that can refill SCBA (self contained breathing apparatus) at a fire scene. They only have so many bottles, so they need to be filled at a large fire. They also may have a big light tower and can be used to bring manpower and assist with giving firefighters rehab supplies (water, gatorade, small snacks, etc) Hope this helps! Have a nice day :D

Is there a TV series with Firefighters in Real life situations? a reality series similar to what Rescue 911 or Cops is? If so what is it called so I can search it up and find it, I want to see these guys in action, they are so cool!
@charlesrudish91476 жыл бұрын
Rescue 911? seriously? Please don't use that show as an example of how things are done. It's an embarrassment to the whole Fire Service, as is Chicago Fire. All that show is, is "Days of our lives" shot in a fake fire house. The only thing authentic is the city it's filmed in, and then I doubt it's all shot there.

Why does the air unit need to respond lights and siren just to get there to refill the cyclinders?
@benjaminsorenson5 жыл бұрын
Because it's part of the call the other firefighters are dispatched to so it has to go lights and sirens as well.
@MichaelDeSanta.8 жыл бұрын
what is an air unit?
@93hungryman8 жыл бұрын
a air unit is a truck that can fill SCBA's (breathing apparatus) mobile. during big incidents there are not enough spare cylinders to do the job at hand so the air truck can ensure firefighters have enough breathing air to do the job, and get trucks back up to full service faster.
@MichaelDeSanta.8 жыл бұрын
93hungryman thank you!
@gundemon33937 жыл бұрын
+DerKommissar basically what ol dude said. Let's say you have a rural department like out in a small country town. They have tankers whose sole job is to provide the engine crew with water because in those calls unlike Atlanta or my town for example there may not always be hydrants available for water supply. Just in case you wondered lol

Swaps out and refills SCBA bottles. It also repairs SCBAs. They used to be air and like, but it appears to be only air now. They used to swap out O2 for the med units as well.

@uriahbeach36808 жыл бұрын
+SoCal CodeThree it could quite possibly be a battalion chief and safety officer.
@FINfinFINfinFINfin5 ай бұрын
They used to have a Division Chief and a Battalion Chief at Station 1. B4 and B6 are not housed at Station 1. B6 is Buckhead and Battalion 4 is in SW Atlanta, unless something has changed. I worked at what are now the 1st, 2cnd, 3rd, and 6th battalions. They seemed to have realigned the 1st battalion. Battalion cars move around all day going to their stations and meetings, so you never know where they will respond from.

beanard “quiet”. When someone says “it’s been quiet today” that’s when you get a call. The first responders are superstitious like that.
