Thank you for watching and commenting! Yes, the logo you saw at the beginning of the video is a tribute to the 1996 Summer Olympics, which were held in Atlanta. It's great to see that the city still celebrates this historic event in such a visible way."

Thanks for watching and commenting! I think that's a great way to describe downtown Atlanta - cool and calm. There's always something interesting to see and do, but it never feels too hectic or overwhelming.

Great video. Atlanta is very nice. It's funny though. It's one of the major US cities, and yet, compared to my home, NYC, it looks like a tiny village.

Nothing funny or surprising, NYC is a giant financial capital of the world and has been that way and Atlanta is one of many sunbelt boomtowns with outsized corporate and media influence vs. many others. Post-car/interstate American cities with more modern city centers aren't gonna compare with an NYC, Chicago, or even SF, or Boston in terms of size of a dense urban core (though apparently both Atlanta and Miami have geographically larger high and midrise districts than everyone but Chicago and NYC I think. That makes sense for Miami, but I don't think anyone expected Atlanta to be like that, but midtown's rise is definitely largely responsible). What makes a place like Atlanta so surprising is that its financial districts are oversized compared to the relatively small population in the city limits AND how relatively vibrant those districts are compared to those inother sunbelt metros with the same histroy of sprawl and decentralization. Most others are merely a collection of high and midrise buildings whereas Atlanta's has quite the range of scenes and things to do especially between the downtown and midtown area (and this wasn't really the case before like 2005). Also the fact that it managed to stay relatively "green" in terms of tree coverage in and near the financial districts is highly unusual. We are past building cities like those old guard legacy cities so we are left with places like Atlanta doing the best they can and given Atlanta's demographics, it is amazing the place continues to have these attributes and a thriving metro overall. Usualluy cities with its demographics sort of just die(d) a quick death, especially financial districts with them. Atlanta for all intensive purposes, despite its struggles is a city that "never should of made it". I'm sure people could have more easily seen Houston, Dallas, and Miami coming, but not Atlanta, and especially not pre-Olympics. And it eventually having a respectable high/midrise district in terms of size and activity? Forget it! At this point Atlanta should be the best Atlanta it can be vs. benchmarking against somewhere like NYC which is wonderful but not but so liveable for many.

Thank you both for your thoughtful comments! It's interesting to hear your perspectives on the different cities and how they compare. Atlanta definitely has its own unique charm and character, and it's great to see how it's been able to thrive and grow despite its challenges. It's always exciting to explore different cities and see what makes them special. Again, thank you
