4 ай бұрынRobin @PencopiaPictorial and I drove to Atlanta for the day, to attend the pen show. We had an amazing day and met a lot of nice pen enthusiasts and acquired a few very nice pens and accessories.

Lao, that is now my new Grail pen. I plan to buy it at the next Fountain Pen Day. Hopefully, I will find a discount that I can use for it. That was one of my goals for this show; to see that pen in person. Yes, we had a great time. 😊

Thank you! Actually, I hold the camera myself. I've never had go pros or any kind of specialized equipment so I've had to develop ways of doing things myself.

Grat video. I think i was standing next to you when you were trying out that pen. This was my first pen show and i was wondering why you were making this squiggly lines, now i know why! I learned so much. Are you from the georgia area too?

No, I'm from North Carolina. Yes, we make squilly lines, figure eights, reverse writing, anything to test a nibs' limitations. Glad you enjoyed the show.

Wow Hello Teresa what do you think about the pen in your hands at about 2mn30 (and the nib)? The guy (it was Mr Zhang ?) tells you it is a new nib developed (I guess) by Omas ? the pen + nib (I've just seen a very small part of the pen + nib but ...) seem more and more similar to some Omas pen from the past. Omas was a really good Cie before to stop, and Scribo (which has been founded by some OMAS guys when Omas Cie stopped, reusing some Omas machine dedicated to nibs. I guess ASC got other machine) seems in better shape than the new Omas Cie of today. If you have some info concerning Omas and new development I'm (strongly ) interested 😀 ... thanks a lot 🙏!

The pen that held the nib was a generic pen. The nib was very nice. Frank said that it was a prototype or new nib for Nahvalur that is meant to recreate the original Omas nibs. He had several absolutely beautiful Omas pens; the blue one that I held up and several really impressive frosted demonstrator pens that are new for Nahvalur but he said they have been well received. There were also some celluloid Omas Pens but I did not pick those up. I'll be honest, I was impressed. I wanted one, but they were out of my budget at this time. The pens were over $300 and the flex nib was $250 by itself, so around $500-$600 for a pen.

@@teresaharris-travelbybooks5564 Yes. I got a couple of pens (and inks), but the important part was that I got a bunch of nibs worked on.

@@Calcprof I bought a Zodiac Pen Company pen and one Colorverse 2024 Blue Dragon ink and a Selarde notebook and that cute tote bag and pouch that I looked at, in the video. I also got a nib tuned by Kirk Speer. I was looking for a replacement nib for another pen, but no one had a nib that fit my feed and housing.

You know, I wasn't even thinking about that. When it comes to pens, I don't harbor political thoughts. I just thought the acrylic was beautiful and there were some very nice looking frosted demonstrator pens there, as well. Nahvalur; or Narwhal; was one of the first pen companies that I purchased from, when I first started going to pen shows. I have 7-8 Nahvalur pens. Conklin and Leonardo also had an Israel Anniversary pen and Benu had a Hanukkah pen. I'm not going to boycott Benu or those other companies. What I think about Israel, I'll keep to myself since my channel is geared towards pens, books, and travel. I appreciate your opinion though.

@@teresaharris-travelbybooks5564 Thanks for your reply. I did understand you were only looking at the pen itself. I wouldn’t boycott these companies either, they do a lot of specialty pens for all sorts of things, but I just wouldn’t buy anything that celebrates Israel, or anything to do with Jewish people. Anyway, good video, I must check out others you have on your channel.
