@@MightySquirrel724 Definitely requires some adjusting, Have to make use of powershell configuration scripts to change a variety of settings (like activating bluetooth, settings menu has a toggle, but bluetooth will say it's not active when trying to connect, toggle switch does work after running script to activate bluetooth) but the scripts are all packed into a folder dropped into C:\users\default\desktop. Definitely gonna take some getting used to.

been using atlas for close to a year now on older laptops and even my main gaming desktop and out of all the custom windows OS’s Atlas is by far my favorite , comes very de-bloated and has the best community, website, and discord server out of all of them, thanks to the whole team fr

Looks pretty awesome, I think I'm going to build my next Windows image using it, thanks. And though there are a few optimization I would do from what I see, like configuring default user profiles, customizing desktop & UI options (show known extensions, change quick access to "This PC", etc.), it seems like a great starting point. I'm curious to read up on what you guys optimized here and how it differs from other "Light" distros of Windows (such as prior versions you could "compile" without security or bloatware).👍

For anyone having the issue where the CMD won't launch because "There are spaces in the Folder Path" and there clearly isn't. Take the entire Convert folder, put it in the ROOT of C:\, run it from there and then place it back in the Folder once it's finished doing it's thing. EDIT: I also found out about AtlasOS from LTT!

Thank U It was pretty obvious that this is an escape point so he doesn't have to explain that it needs to be in the root C: ... or that a kind of pocket of problems are forbidden to be answered with the simple " THERE IS A SPACE in your folder "

It wasnt obvious. There wasnt any spaces until i loot at the entire path of folders and there is a space in my USER name "C:\Users\dumb bitch" And i cant change the user folder name. I had to just drop the entire folder in to C: and then it did begin downloading Thanks

Really love what this looks like. I used to in 2010 till 2011 have a 128MB ram computer that even on XP it ran awful and after that I had a Compaq Presario laptop I had to downgrade to Windows XP from 7 and I was so try hard at getting the lowest possible tasks to still operate the OS. I think I had 13-17 on Windows XP Home Edition just idle cause I only had 2GB of ram. I'm probably go to do this on my modern computer just because I hate services persistent that I don't need or want that keep coming back.

Those who are stuck to change password after restarting, try leaving the current password as blank. Then just enter the 2 sections for a new password. That worked for me at least.

@@Disaster_GG Ive Used GhostSpectre, ReviOS, Atlas. For me Atlas hold em down when it come to gaming.. I dont know why this guy on the video use Windows Update. Everytime you use Windws Update its slow down your PC. Its meant for Gaming only.

Running AtlasOS 21H2, it's been a blast. Thinking about updating to 22H2. Not sure if I should though, my install is running pretty stable so far. Any reason besides included and updated Windows security updates?

I ran Windows 10 AME 20h2 for nearly 3 years before the Ameliorated "playbooks" came out; which allowed me to upgrade to Windows 11 Ameliorated. So I dont see why not. As long as you have a good Antivirus you should be fine.

the leaving the OS without an AV is a tad bit worrying. Unless you just leave it disconnected from the internet. Either way it's super impressive and very cool.

its telling me that the current directory contains spaces in its path but i followed everything you did step by step including naming the original folder "Atlas_Installation" without any spaces

Tried that, didn't work. It's specifically only compatible with the variant of Windows that's recommended in the video to install.

I know of a similar project that's specifically made to reduce input latency in games. NYCFurby's FGC OS. I am super interested in a highly optimized version of Windows that just feels snappy. The only thing that's kind of a bummer is that RDP is disabled. These kind of optimizations seem like a game changer for a bare bones no fuss Windows. Sure, it throws security practices completely out of the window, but in some cases it's a trade I'm willing to make.

I have been using google's remote desktop for years now. Initially I began using it to help my mum with her computer while I am overseas. But I'd probably use that over RDP on the same network as well. That way you dont need dns or static IPs,

Disabling drivers update in windows update through the registry file you gave got me heck of a pain in the ass. Audio wasnt working in my pc and couldnt figure out what the issue was even though all the drivers were updated and working. After messing with it I finally gave up and reinstalled the Atlas OS but this time, I dint disabke the driver updates in windows update and guess what, the driver issue was fixed finally!!!!

This takes way too much time to install though. It does the same thing as ReviOS, Tiny OS, Ghost Spectre, or running the powershell tool to debloate windows but all of those are faster and easier to install. I'm going to test it out because the idea is great and I dont mind taking the time to setup but the people who need to use this will be overwhelmed with how much or how long it takes to install.

It's not complicated, it's just time consuming and knowing how lazy and impatient people who aren't tech savvy are, they will give up in the middle of the windows install. This OS isn't really going to help the average tech enthusiast because most are using hardware capable of running normal windows just fine. With the exception of gaming and maybe installing on an old computer that doesn't get used much, they don't need this kind of OS. Not to mention the security risks with them removing all of the implementations from Microsoft... I'm just saying it's not ideal for the people who really need it and other variations of modified windows are an easier option for those people and it offers basically the same performance.

installed and working great.... my question is: Do i have to keep the USB stick in the PC all the time now? or can I remove it now that all the files are on the PC? Genuine questions because obviously had to change the boot in the BIOS to boot from the USB. Any reply would be appreciated.

The installation requires a one time boot from the USB. After installation you can take your usb back and do whatever with it.

PIN THIS COMMENT MANY GET STUCK at Reticulating Splines TO FIX : Open Task Manager. Kill curl. Kill PowerShell. Kill Windows Command Processor (cmd). The install progress should start again.

Why the installation is so complicated ? all previous versions were just a iso that we have to made a bootable pendrive using rufus. Release a simple ISO... this is so complicated

Looking for some help. I got windows written to a flash drive via rufus and then installed into my 500gb SSD. But the Windows Boot Manager is not read at all in my bios. The physical SSD is read as connected to SATA but I can't boot to it or put it in the boot order. Rufus was set to UEFI when formatting the flash drive instal media as my bios is set to UEFI.

That's why I prefer Ghost spectre, it's just an iso that anyone can install quickly and extremely easily, Atlas OS can be good but only if you simplify things!

Compared to moving to Linux this is so much easier! Everyone should stop complaining how difficult and complicated installing Atlas OS is because it's not! Be happy we can even have this and that Microsoft isn't suing anyone!

I believe you will only need to go through this process once, for the next updates I believe they will just use the AME tool so maybe you won't have to do a lot of work

Found this through ltt. Just becareful. You can brick your pc if you convert your hard drive to gpt if your motherboard is a old version. I did this on my core 2 duo. My motherboard is locked in legacy mode and unable to read gpt. Converting the hard drive makes it unreadable. I did find a solution just by googling gpt to mbr restore and out worked out well, changed the original install with Rufus from gpt back to mbr and re ran the install and it worked perfect. I would 100% recommend the install. We are running cour 2 duo at 3.8mhz 16gb ram, 1050ti and running ark at medium settings and it is working really well.

It's Microsofts fault. Microsoft got mad at them for distributing ISOs of Windows. So this is a loophole around it.

how do I install the Windows 10 Atlas OS if i'm currently on Windows 11 insider and it says "Requirements not met, This Windows build is not supported by this playbook". There is no ISO, so how do I install? Do I need to stage this on a specific flavor of Windows 10 first and then create a USB? Seems like a roundabout way of doing things with the AME Wizard and playbook setup.

It doesnt create a iso file, just a folder called "ISOFOLDER" and when i convert it to iso it is ONLY 3gb in size, and when i putted it on a pen and tried to boot it up windows said smth to repair the computer. Is there a different way?

Is there any ISO files I can download? I use ventoy to easily install different OSes by just dragging the ISO file into the USB and I am having trouble with the AME wizard

I did everything exactly as in the video but whenever the installation is performing, an error says there's files that are corrupted or missing so the installation cannot be completed... And due to the disk format I can't go back to my windows anymore.... So I'm stuck with a pc with no windows and no way to install it

don't know if you still got this problem but if you get all of the files from another computer and manage to "borrow" a brand new ISO for windows aswell and put it on the usb, you should be able to reboot back into windows from the usb you have

Does Atlas have Chromebook dell body but with atlas program on the system, please brief me on this. I have a dell Chromebook logo on the body of my laptop but once I turn the laptop on,it displays Atlas on the screen

you can make a portion of your drive fat32. Then you can boot that disk from uefi. No need for Rufus or external usb.

I disabled the drivers thing but when I updated windows my graphics card driver was installed bc i saw nividia the control panel does that mean i did it wrong?

Done a clean windows install, and updated. Cut installation size down to 15GB from 50GB. Only thing not working so far is AMD Ryzen Master. I get a promt that Ryzen Master requires Windows 10 or higher. Is there a fix in those post install settings?

Can anyone help me? When I run the playbook, it takes just a few seconds to do its thing, but nothing changes after the reboot. I tried autocleaner fix but it says the command is not recognized. I also don't have the folder on the desktop

On the last step, apparently my windows had to update to 22H2 twice is that a problem. Also I can unplug my pen drive now after I have a clean windows installation How good has your experience been with atlas os?
