Im building an off grid ranch in Arizona, Under my 30x50 shop we are putting 2 level deep the same size as the shop above all totally concealed to the point a new owner could move in and they wouldnt find it unless we gave them the Key if you wanna call it that. I think keeping it hidden is the best line of defense.

How do you keep it so hidden that a new person wouldn't find out? I am thinking of getting a 1000mSQ plot of land and building a perimeter wall with a simple hut/ house as a cover in the middle, and below will be like 3 levels of bunkers.. -1 A shopping mall/ apartment building inspire underground parking lot -2 Living quarters with a huge atrim in the middle so you could see down to level -3 -3 will be the Essentials, like green house, communal kitchen, gun room gun range, communal laundromat, decon laundromat. Etc. But i have been having difficulties finguring out how to make it so hidden that nobody would know that there will be or is a entrance to a huge mancave underneath.. besides the huge underground garage opening i want it to be invisible from inside the house.. If you could help me or give me some ideas that would be perfect

split level building with drive in entrance disguised as regular wall , from inside house you can do everything from hidden bookshelf door to secret entrance under carpet that you don't open till doomsday, the back of closet is excellent place for secret door(how many people pull all clothes and things out and look at back closet wall?

My type of dream home. Bunker living. Comforting and comfortable. A place where nobody can interrupt your peace and quiet unless you allow it. Well this has been my idea of a dream home since I was 10 years old in the mid 1970s. I will never be able to fulfill that dream. But that would be so cool and dreaming is free. 😁 Great video! So cool the things in this bunker and so many things that could be added or changed to whatever you could want. 😎👍

Something I would want done differently, or in ADDITION to, the water system in that bunker. Add a filter before the external water goes into the tanks or water heater with the cross-over from the output of the tanks is back on the INPUT of the filter. Even if it was just the particulate portion of the RO system, every little bit would be a help, and not THAT big an increase in cost.

I'd like to have a way to recirculate my water supply while it's not being used so it can re-oxygenate. It would also help lengthen the life of the water filters, especially if you have the extra filter as suggested above. I'd also like a way to limit water usage to the shower when it's not being used for decon. Really, there should be a decon shower before entering the living quarters.

This has bugged me for years but since the subject of a secret passage was brought up.... The proximity of the escape hatch to the bunker has driven me almost to drink. I'd love to see someone actually ask for an escape tunnel ending up in the woods or elsewhere if leaving the bunker was absolutely necessary. And just because it should be seriously considered, the entrance and escape should be booby trapped.

@@kevinmoore2929 if/when I can afford one that's what it will be with mine. Either in or behind another building at least 50 feet away. The problem with popping up in the woods is avoiding killing trees while you're digging the trench for the tunnel.

@@michiganengineer8621 at my farm you'd never believe how fast trees grow back if you remove them. In under 10 years we had a road through our farm we didn't need or care about so we let the trees move in. Here we are now you'd never have known 10 years ago anything was there.,.. that area is a forest now just because we stopped maintaining that space. It is thick with trees now.

@@kevinmoore2929the main reason is in case of an emergency inside the tunnel like a fire where the gasses can kill you quickly. The escape is there so you can try to get up and out fast without having to go for 200 yards through a tube before you get to the ladder. The lesser reason is for an attack where you need to escape someone trying to get in.

My biggest problem is I don’t know where in the country to build something like this. I think it's more likely that we will get hit by an asteroid or supervolcano eruption. If either of those happen then a layer of dirt possibly many feet will be on top of this bunker and don't forget about the tsunami or weeks of continuos rain which usually happens after a large impact. It would probably be a good idea to place this in a location that has no chance of flooding and or make it completely waterproof. You'll also need some kind of hydraulic lift to get to the surface if you get buried in dirt.

odd that the bathroom is at the entrance. It also seems like a little more design could simplify things. For example, they are like, "just plug this pump in and shut these valves". Why not have the pump hard-wired and just have a switch? Little details like that, adding a $2 switch, is better than crawling under a water tank.

That would be called a panic room. You need a gas tight door, strong walls preferably fire and bulletproof. Air filtration with positive air pressure, I would be happy with a commercial filter, I don’t rate NBC as a significant threat in my rural area. It should be hidden, so it has to be in line with the expected floor plan. If you’re building then I would use ICF and put it under the garage, driveway or patio with a hidden door into the basement. Use the house to supply the bunker with utilities, weeping tile, insurance, hide the air system in the walls, privately stock preps. Have a trapdoor hidden under a drainage grate in the garage, that only opens from inside.

And even continue living in it after the disaster, but if the owner has been able to spend 450K only on this, I am sure he has another house some other place to go to after. In a end-of-the-world scenario, the family would be able to hide and live... but if anybody discovers where they lived it would not take to much effort to force them out with all those air tubes sticking out.... any specific video where use cases are discused?

Water system has no drain valve(s)? The air intake for the saniflow, is that bypassing the blast valve intake? Because if it is, a blast wave will easily rupture that PVC pipe. It's a bad decision to try and install all that under a sink, it looks nice, but if you have to disassemble it to change the filters or replace the macerator (they do fail...), then you'd really wish you hadn't

How deep can you guys go - top of shelter to grade level? What are the variables that dictate this?

20' is the deepest I have gone. Roof to surface. That requires a huge hole. 30' deep

In the long term how do the tops hold up ? seems like all the water would pool up for extend periods in all them squares not having a smooth top for water to run off to the sides . I have so many questions about bunkers that never get touched on in any of the videos .

Thats cheaper than buying the average house here in Sydney. May as well just buy some land & drop a double bunker in.
