I bought more about a year ago, zip tied 7 on the upper poles of my chain link fence. During the recent power crisis that we had here in the south, my yard was lit like a stadium as we were walking around. These were probably the best inexpensive solar lights that I have ever purchased!

Someone has probably said this but have you tried replacing the rechargeable batteries in the everbrite (may have to take it apart)? Most solar products come with cruddy batteries that don't have much power and don't last very long! Also, I'd use velcro command strips to mount it! Thanks

DjJtown . . . Thank you, but I'm sorry, I'm not sure which words (statement) you're referring to, that should be "copied and stuck on a lot of other people's pages before it gets worn out". I amazes me that this product is still on the market. After ordering the two for one offer on T V - One did not work. I returned it and was sent a replacement. This one would not charge the battery. One have it checked, the battery was leaking. I returned it and GUESS What - After placing it in the bright sunlight for a day, again it did not work. On checking - the switch would not switch On or OFF. It seems that you get a replacement of the first one that pick up in the Warehouse.

My ever bright lights stay on low until motion sets them to high. Even when we have multiple rainy days where the sun doesn't come out, my lights work for 3 nights. My lights also detect motion from a wider angle than the one you were reviewing. Not knocking the light as it seems pretty bright. I'm just wondering if there are different specifications the ever bright lights are built to

I bought two of these and they didn't last 2 months. I called for a refund and they said that all they could do was send me some replacements so when they arrived they only lasted 3 weeks. They were mounted facing south and got full sun all day so that wasn't the problem. they are just junk in my opinion.

Thinking about buying this product for both our doors, so thank you for this review. It might not be as bright as the Angel; but, honestly, brighter isn't always better. I want to make sure I don't stumble over anything and can get my keys out, not signal the ISS! The Angel looks like it would be one of those lights that you don't look at directly, because if you do, that ring of light is the only thing you're going to be seeing for awhile! One quick nit-pick: you put the SunBlast in the backyard under an overhang, which I think may have restricted the motion sensor's field of "view". Especially in the first one, you couldn't see the bulb that houses the motion sensor right away, until you got closer.

I actually bought mine to charge in sun but use only in the house during power outages. The fact that it comes on by itself is perfect for the bathroom, cellar stairs ect. No tape/screws and just put in a sunny window to keep it charged up when necessary. Using it indoors...although obviously not their intent is perfect!

this is for when cars are driving past. i seen other Solar motion activated lights do this. I think its cause of the shadow/lights from the car. it might be triggering the Motion sensor to turn it on
@shaunbarnett2972
@shaunbarnett2972 5 жыл бұрын
Motion sensors operate on Infra Red light ie heat. They will detect the movement of any heated object that passes across the line of sight of the detector. The IR sensors are connected to transistors and a change in the amount of IR light from one to the other causes a voltage change which activates the transistors to turn the light on. It has nothing to do with shadows or light. Vehicles will usually only activate a motion sensor if the engine is warm or the vehicle is a different temperature to the surroundings.

What if u get a certain distance but have the light off on ur car since u have headlights it could maybe catch the light from the headlights casting a shadow from a distance. And what I'm using even though it's not sensor light it's a solar spot light only have color changing settings or solid color choice and regular lighting which is not bad that it almost looks as if I was using electrical.

Yep, you're right, it's great solar powered light, but if you use the adhesive to attach it, accessing the switch in the back is very difficult. That is it's only fatal flaw, they just need to relocate that switch to the bottom or front (if they can). Otherwise, it looks great if you don't want to worry about batteries.

Ok normally I'm right along with you on your reviews. But I noticed the blast above the garage you couldn't even see the housing it was so bright. Then when you moved it to the back yard being under that lip it came on. Then at night I could see the housing around each of the blasts lights. I'm wondering if the battery wasn't as fully charged by the end of the day as you originally thought? With that said if your test was accurate I'd get the angel and solder a solar panel to it with rechargeable batteries. But that gets a little involved adding resistors and such in to keep it from over charging and back feeding etc. So prob just get a rechargable battery system and change out the batteries as needed since the angel easily rotates forward. I do like your reviews though. You test things in a way I would and I've only found one other guy aside from you on KZfaq that does it the same way but not for the same type of products. Thanks!

Hey Troy, the sun had set behind a nearby mountain so it wouldn't have gotten any additional light when I moved it. I believe the difference in lighting conditions between the front of my house (where there is a bright street light) and the back (which is almost pitch black) is why it looks different on video in those two locations. The brightness seemed the same in person when I moved it back there.

Probably because no one wants to see your light turn on everytime a car drives passed. The neighbor across the street from me has one that does so every few minutes when cars pass. It gets annoying and is totally impractical. I would rather know that someone is in my yard when it comes on rather than ignoring it thinking its just another car or someone walking on the sidewalk..

For a complete perimeter lighting solution try Mr. Beam. Each unit transmits a RF signal that activates the others near it. You can light up the entire area of your home if one is triggered. They had them at Home Depot and Lowe's at one time. It however operates on batteries but works anywhere.

I have a very shaded yard and very few places get enough solar energy necessary (typically 5-8 hours) for a full charge. I use a pair of cheap motion-detecting lights that have a 6' extension cord attached to the solar panel for placement to get optimum solar energy capture. They suit me fine. But I've seen solar lights that range in price from $40 to several hundred dollars for 200 watts or more. Some solar panels can get very large too. For example, the 200W version Cyberdax has a 14.2 x 22.8-inch, 400 LED solar panel with a 16' cord. If you have large wide-open spaces that need more security then that's the way to go.

Not sure how everyone thinks this unit is supposed to perform, but IMO....it is a light that you put in a spot where at night, when you are walking up....it turns on.....lights up the place till you leave....and then shuts off for the next time....I think it is a pipe dream to think it could be mounted in an area where it could light up a back deck for hours while people party. It has worked perfectly for my application(of which I believe it was intended) .and I will recommend to anyone that needs that function.

Appreiciate your review. What are your thoughts of the Lithium battery spontaneously igniting? Could it be a possibility? Would hate to have the house burn down..

Looks nice and bright. I bought some lights on Amazon. 62 Led Solar. Unfortunately shows unavailable now They had switch on the back too. One nice thing. They had removable 18650 batteries. Two each. So they could be replaced. Not just toss the whole light. You might try to disassemble the worn out light see what cells are in it. You may be able to get it working again.

Finally got this today. I have it charging on my desk lamp. Haven't tried the light output yet. I've seen reviews of this light online where this thing died after a few months. I think you know what I'm gonna do.

I suspect these two lights have at least a few components in common. Or at least same manufacturer of components. Things like the motion sensor element and the individual led’s and small parts on the driver board, and logic chips.
