Atomic Soldiers - What Does a Nuclear Bomb Explosion Feel Like?

The existential threat of nuclear war is no longer a Cold War memory. With nine countries armed with around 15,000 atomic bombs up to 53 times stronger than those dropped in the Second World War, the stakes are arguably higher.
Ahead of the International Day against Nuclear Tests on August 29, we met up with British atomic veterans who were present at test sites in Australia and the Pacific, to find out what it’s like to experience a nuclear bomb explosion up close.
While most people know about the bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, fewer are aware that an additional 2,000 atomic bombs were detonated after World War II and tested on hundreds of thousands of young soldiers to prepare them for nuclear war.

That man's story about his daughter was soul destroying. Can you imagine the agony of having your child die like that. How God awful. I'd immagin a man could never be the same ever again. That governemt owes those men a huge apology

At the end of every road... there will be God, sitting in judgement of all these things. Jesus once said... most people will not be saved and there will be few that find the path of salvation. The more I learn of human governments, what they have done, and how many support and vote for them... I am understanding why. Government work and operate as though they are God and constantly usurp His Authority. Despite all this, people still clamor for having government. If a gang had done this... people would be calling for heads to roll... but they dare not call for heads of the state to roll... that would be treason, insurrection, terrorism.

@@CD-vb9fi This was all predestined by your God if it exists. It's absolutely ridiculous to think a being of that magnitude wouldn't know exactly how everything would progress. Any 'trial' would be God putting itself on trial.

@@adisharr No, the things that are "Predestined" are specific to fulfillment of Prophecy and are specifically brought up in scripture to such effect. Considering that most of Prophecy is a heads up to help people confirm their Faith. If an event of this scale were "predestined" then it would be part of prophecy and written in scripture. You seem to be quick to blame God for the atrocities of man. God has made mention multiple times how folks like you will "reason with themselves" all manor of evil and vile justification for such evil. There is a reason your governments get labeled as "Beasts". Because you have to be a beast to submit your own citizens to this trash. But it never seems to bother you folks that governments are constantly being caught savaging their own people in the pursuit of power. Whether God had a hand in this or not, one thing is for sure... mankind DID! And these stories are not unfamiliar either.

I had a friend in the Navy who was in the Adriatic Blockade in the 1990s. Even without talking about these nuclear tests, he said the MoD are murderers, and he was talking about their regard to UK warriors. What the UK did to these men in the video is evil. If they needed to know, they did not have to use humans. Evil. It's like giving mRNA vaccines to children today, against the interests of the children and of no benefit to anyone except to Pharma's profits and to corporate-government control - that's fascism. Evil.

When my father was in his nineties we had a family vacation in Vegas. My oldest cousin and I were enjoying a (large part of a) bottle of Glenfiddich with my dad. Eventually we were pretty ripped and having a great time. Being that we there to visit the Atomic testing museum in Vegas the conversation turned to my father's involvement with the testing. My father was a part of the Greatest Generation, and was a "my word is my bond" kind of patriot. So when my cousin and I asked him to tell us about what he experienced he said he recoiled a bit and said there's no way because he took an oath with the US government to take what he saw to the grave. We spent about 30 minutes showing him many KZfaq videos and websites to prove to him that it was all declassified and permittable to speak freely. I turned my phone's video recorder on to record our conversation. One of the things that stood out was that he was sent in by the scientist to Ground Zero only 17 hours after the explosion. All the equipment he was given was gloves, a dust mask and overalls. When I heard this the questions in my head was "why didn't the scientists go in in get it themselves?" Why send a freaking heavy equipment operator in? Those scientists knew the dangers and sent my naive father and others in to die a horrible death. My father got thyroid cancer but lived until he was 101. His coworkers died decades before. Ever since then I have had a healthy distrust of Big Government and disdain of anyone who wants to make our government bigger and put our lives into the hands of Big Brother.

My stepdad told a very similar story without the dust masks etc. Just his OD greens. He witnessed several bomb blasts including the first attempted underground explosion. He laughed about how it blasted through the ground and roared upwards. His life I found out was a deep rabbit hole. After the military he worked in the government sector and it wasn't unusual for him to travel with a briefcase handcuffed to his wrist. He worked in crypto.

Hope to god youre not voting for the right at this point if you're afraid of big brother and government power. Looks like the Trump backed Heritage Foundation plans to take away House veto power, giving all power to the president, turning us into a dictatorship, eliminating checks and balance. They just released all 180 pages of their plan for 2025. In it they brag about how they were able to gerrymander and re-district in the right's favor at uncharted levels. All this woke bullshit is the product of Russian troll groups making small problems political ones to leverage the right, starting in 2016, continuing to pander for the right to this day. We fell for it, and now the Tucker Carlson's and Trump's are the biggest assets Russia has. Don't be fooled by the pandering, grifting, and boot licking. Even good republicans had to fall in line and kiss the ring or get primaried. How can there be check and balance if no one has to the balls to balance? Look at what happened to McCarthy. Mitt fucking Romney looks like he has the biggest balls on the right now, and that's saying something. All while banning books, telling us what we can do with our bodies, and trying to limit minorities and gay rights. That's dysopian as hell, yet the excuses I hear are mind bending. Oh, and the guy who literally told you he wants to microchip you, Elon Musk, now panders to the right because he thought there would be a red wave and could get even more subsidies for his stupid business' that should have went to disserving hard working American start-ups. Oh, and if you really want the truth about aliens and UFO's, do you really think conservatives will hand you that information, when it could shake organized religion to its core? Christianity is their tool of control while most don't practice themselves.

There is a sort of checks and balances that process has to go through. So there would need to be the most credible threat in order for that train to leave the station and the only real threat to initiate this kind of reaction would be a nuclear threat, which would also need to go through the same criteria. The only way an all out nuclear apocalypse could happen is through a major computer malfunction or a rogue party getting their hands on a dirty bomb like in Sum of All Fears. No one on the planet has absolute power to hit the “button” whenever they want. Thank. God.

The "atomic veterans," as they're sometimes called, do have a somewhat larger-than-expected rate of leukemia, a blood-cell cancer that can be caused by radiation. The whole point is to be smart enough and civil enough not to hate anyone else and ultimately not needing the government to control you,but rather control yourselves from acting outside of moral conduct.The more it happens,the more you get controlled and the more you become lab rats.Almost as if "if you are not going to act like civil beings we will not treat you as such...is that not noticeable?"No matter which party, which system, at the end of the day, they are all the same things ..you have an authoritative group of people dictating and governing over people, no matter what way it is worded because they refuse to get along and remain united amongst themselves by free will and choice,the best way to do this is via negotiating/communicating, to come to terms and understanding when in disagreement or you can call it business/ being civil .(all across the world)

This is really powerful but I can't figure out how they could have seen their bones through their hands when covering their eyes. Your eyes can't see X-ray spectrum even if you're close enough for X-rays to make it through the atmosphere to you with significant intensity. I'm guessing the visible light was so bright that they saw thin shadows of their fingers but I don't want to second guess these people so if somebody can explain that I'd like to understand it.

Take the flashlight on your phone and place it on the tip of your finger. You’ll see some light passes through. There must have been enough light to pass through all the flesh/blood but bone is completely opaque.
@justshannon6734
@justshannon6734 3 жыл бұрын
It has nothing to do with actual X-rays, but the sheer brightness of the light. A blast that strong produces light that’s like that of 100 suns. A blast like that is unimaginable except to those who actually saw it.

What they saw was density. Bone has more density than skins and flesh, which is how we captured these x ray images.

Imagine how human beings killed much more people than Little Boy and Fat man without nuclear explosion. That was what Japan did during WWII. They were poor enough, but they were not victim. They were during war that They started.

They managed to gather some of the last surviving veterans if one of the most inhumane display of government testing, which by the way they where made to sign clauses to never disclose what happened to them until decades later. You're telling me your MAIN gripe with this is the way the pronounce the very thing that was used to ruin their lives.... Gotta say that's pretty based, I'm glad you respect the pronouns of weapons of mass destruction it's the current year after all 😎👍
