So my take on the Dolphin is finally ready after some delay due to... technical issues, and not really the plane's fault! Funny enough, because I've had to fly this with a LiPo battery, and hence it doesn't really have much endurance, I've discovered that it is much more pleasing as a manual mode, LoS, full throttle play thing, than a long range FPV rig! I really liked this one a lot!

Nice video my friend, it looks like you are having a blast with this plane, and getting good at knitting lol, well knitting foam back together stick and Emax 2205 2600kv on and have fun with the FPV still fitted

My motor mount also came out on the very first landing well for my first successful flight mine also had backwards controls my mistake but it shot up straight up into the air I wish I would have had my GoPro to film it but all I got is fpv View and it also went to Pieces but was very easily repaired you can't even tell that I broke the whole front end off I love this plane once you get the hang of it and you get it all set up properly it flies amazing so much in fact I'm purchasing a second one that have is a backup

hi. would it fly also if you used 5' triblade? size/kv of that motor was meant for quadcopter. I have them but they heat up on my quad

Thank you! Well yes, if you plan on flying it without a stabilizer or want to do primarily manual mode, it would be a good idea to dial in some EXPO to tame it around centre stick!

How can I connect 2 ESC in this FC ? And how much current can be passed through the FC's current sensor? Can you make a build video of a twin motor fpv plane with differential thrust using this flight controller.

The Dolphin is able to fly very fast and very slowly ! With good settings, it is a good platform for long range videos. It is very stable and very playful if you want to have fun.

No, it is an antenna tracker system, and the guy with the helmet was me! The camera is on the helmet! :)

Ypu are using the R9-System? You could flash the expresslrs firmware to the tx and rx! You would get much better range!

Even now I have more range than my video system can use... soooooo... would refrain from it for now, although a friend of mine offered to lend me his ExpressLRS system to do a review on it... might think about it!

How does the VTX do with heat dissipation? Wouldn't it be better to place the VTX where the ESC is supposed to go in order to get better cooling?

Depends on the Vtx. Works well where it is! I do have a heatsink on it, and there is some airflow going from the front as it does have air intakes in the nose. Should be enough!

Bro I'm assembling a dolphin, my first drone ever. I have a matek f765 wse with a current sensor, does that mean I don't need a PDB? Also i wanna buy a budget long range module/reciever, any you can reccomend? Does it even matter which reciever i buy? Thanks

Yes, if the FC has a power module on board you don't need a PDB. As for the long range radio... perhaps have a look at the ELRS thing, I have not tested it, but people seem to praise the range a lot.

Thanks, really like your videos, always so much information. Can you help me answer a few questions I have? I got a Sonicmodell Skyhunter Racing, also a smaller plane. I think the tail end is shaking itself apart cause of high speed flying. Is that possible? Would it help if I made the vertical stabilizers smaller? And what would you say is the max speed for a smaller plane like that? Would a bigger prop be more efficient at low to medium speed?

I just finished building the exact same plane, no issues at all. Make sure you use good strong glue. Mine has got Emax RS2205 2300KV, 6X4 Prop, 30a blheli esc, Matek f411 Flight controller, Emax metal geared analog servos. 4s 1500 and 1850mah. 20-30mins flight time easily and goes like a missle over 100kph. Its currently up for sale on Marketplace.

@@k1ortia Getting tears in the horizontal part of the tail in the foam, glue holds, but foam is getting cracks/tears.

Did not have an issue with that, as long as the plane is flying there is air getting in there and circling around for cooling.

Nope! There is a pointy piece thought, but it is either it, or this one! This one allows you to have an HD camera in there, the pointy one does not... hence why I haven't used it yet!

Another excellent Review! Seems like better gluing from the factory would have made it easier ;-) They need to start shipping tubes of glue with all these Plane ;-) See you in the Air!

It always depends on how you use and what you expect out of it! For unexpected LoS fun, it is great, for long range... it is not great!

Hey Nikola, a guy in Germany did engineer a pusher folding prop middlepiece which could be the solution for your enginemountproblems or the contentionell Middlepiece (28mm is the smallest i could find). A busted plane with the excuse of 'An issue with board orientation, reversed controls and over shimmed motor.' a is ll within the first minute suggests that the opinion of this guy is worthless. Why would you throw an airplane without checking the direction of the surfaces?
